I was given it for one week Nadine , but that was because of severe anxiety problems not Fibro. The psychiatrist was happy for me to stay on it but the GP wasn't and the GP won. I didn't notice any side effects at all .

My fiancé has actually been prescribed it today to help with back spasms so will report back if he has any side effects.

venlaflaxine, narproxen, cocodamol 30/500 (im on 8 a day), buscopan, lansoprazole.

he gave me 28 tablets 2mg take one 3x day and put them on repeat for me with the option to increase dosage in couple months if need to x

Gosh i wish my doc would help like that. I cant take co-codamol no more because of the constipation probs but i was getting so many spasms in back nlegs the diazepam helps the spasms and the tramadol helps reduce the pain after bt my doc only gives me 10 x 2mg tabs a time that has to last 2 weeks. She is now refusing to give me any more now referring me to a pain clinic but high waiting list in meantime will only have tramadol and naprosyn for pain. Amitryptilline at night and propanalol for my anxiety attacks.

Diazepam may be addictive but for my spasms only thing that helps me.

Only been taking this for 47, yes 47 years. It is part of my chemical make up now and I really think there is too much made of this. This is only my opinion and I know many would not agree with me. Have never had any side effects and feel it has been a life saver for me on many occasion. Only take 5mg, of a morning but if my FM and other complaints are driving me out of my mind I reach for the diazepam . It can make you a bit tired but as I am almost cometose with the painkillers, which dont really take the pain away, just take the edge off it,diazepam helps my mujscles relax,

I was given this back in the 1960's.Had my second daughter in 1960 and at that time post natal was just ignored but eventually had a full breakdown. At the time Valium (diazepam) was the wonder drug at the time and it really helped me. Became addicted to it but why stop it if it helps. Thats my opinion although may not be others. Have told my doctor this and they seem to understand and still prescribe it for me. I am 75 in April and feel it would only add to my already suffering with FM/OA/IBS/Diverticulitis, other thing but I've forgotten what they are. It would be cruel to take it off me now.

I have been taking varying amounts for the past 10 years. Now on 8mg at bedtime only. Apparently, we shouldn't be on it for more than four weeks, but my pain consultant told me not to worry about it. I wish I could manage without it though. The cocktail of meds I take isn't helping the fibro fog.
