it helped me sleep, but i was taken off it because of my heart. like you jenglen, sweeties might taste nicer than meds and do as much good!

Hi i am on 3x amitritiline a night as well as allmy other meds and i have now been dropped down to 1 as there was absolutely no difference in my sleeping with 3 or 1 personally it does not matter what i take i jus dont sleep but thats not to say anyone else wont, this is purely my experience so please see your GP before you drop or stop any medication love to you Diddle x

Hi,

I've been on 2 x 25mg Amitriptyline at night for about 18 months at first they worked, they helped me sleep and stopped my restless legs from jumping all over the bed but they've never helped with pain and dont help me sleep anymore.

I'm going back to the docs on Tuesday for a medication review so hopeing he will change my meds.

If they arn't working straight away I'd say they arn't right for you, I noticed a difference straight away.

I take a relative small does, 50mg at night (for around 4 months) i say they relax me, more than deal with pain or sleep. If i don't take my Restless legs are a lot worse.

But we are all different and meds work effect us all in different ways. I say always take a GP advice. Take Care Lou x

100mg ami at night. Helps with sleep and pain to a certain extent, in combination with other meds. Fell less spaced out on this than I did with duloxetine and was able to come off zopiclone.

I am on a low dose of 35mg per night. They don't make me sleepy but what I have noticed is that when I wake during the night, I can go off again whereas previously I was fully wide awake. I do think your body gets used to the dosage so every few months you have to increase the dosage.

If I didn't get any benefit from them I would certainly stop taking them as take enough pills as it is.

Hi i am on three a night but mainly for my restless legs and arms and they do help me sleep i guess along with other meds. When i have a flare up thou i could take a mug full of meds and not sleep.

I took them for a while but always woke the morning after with something akin to a hangover and didn't sleep any better.

ahhh, thanks all. i actually didnt think they were working so i stopped taking them...........turns out they were helping more than i thought.

Although it wasnt helping really with sleep its helping calm my legs down.

i struggle with sleeping pills and there side effects so i suppose i will just have to settle with this for a while.

thanks x
