i am half way through my renewal Jules but have had to put it down for a couple of days, it really fries your brain!! I am so sick of filling in forms etc when my doctor has wrote letters to these various people stating i cannot work and the severity of my condition right now and thats still not good enough...what the hell do they want? why is that not good enough for these people? No wonder depression creeps in with this illness! x

yes you can hun but it can be a long battle. i got declined and went to court which i got declined again as they could only go on on info from when they first made there decision.... but in the year i was witin for my appeal i had lots more medical evdence that they couldnt take into account so i re applied and got it.... i get mobility high rate but no care as even tho they know i struggle they say i manage in my own way. still it all helps as i can hardly walk so i rely on my neighbour heavily for help to shops, docs and takin my son to school... without her i dont know what i would do really as taxi's are so expensive these days as i dont drive x took me just over 2 years to fight for mine was a nightmare and so strssful and lots of medicals!!!!!!! as i had them come out to my house to see how i get about and do things and how i go up the stairs get in the bath.... was horrid really what they make you do... but still with all the people claimin it that doesnt need it you can hardly blame them now, but it just not fair on the ones that do need it, as we have to go thro horrible tests just to prve we are ill!!!! and because fibro is so complex and no specific test to prove it it makes it easy for people to blag it.... but they havent a clue what it is really like to live with such a condition!!!!!!!! i wouldnt wish it on anybody,,,,,,, ny life has completely changed .. feel like a prisoner in my own home at times where i never get out these days as i just seem to be bad all the time at the min!

gl if ya do go for it but be prepared for a long wait and the possibility that you will get declined!!!! so hard to get these day as ya have to fight for it. x

In theory, if you have mobility and care needs, you should be entitled to DLA, never mind the name of your illness. What is difficult is trying to convince the DWP that you genuinely have these needs. Always, always get help from an advisor who is an expert in filling in these forms - CAB, Welfare Rights, DIAL etc. They will do the writing for you. Writing makes my hands hurt anyway.

I seem to be one of the lucky ones, if you can call having FMS lucky, but i was awarded DLA the first time applied for it, I have applied to renew it 3 times now and got it each time. When I renewed the last time I was awarded it indefinately but as DLA is changing to PIP so I guess them I will have to apply again.
