Hello everyone. I'm new to this group and so glad I've found it. Xmas 2023 I had covid for the first time. Never recovered and in May last year was diagnosed with RA. Im convinced covid was a trigger alongside a huge amount of stress with a new job and big house move just before. Started on the drugs... methexotrate injections, lefludomide, ongoing steroids. On methexotrate from the start I had a burning scalp feeling. Lefludomide as sore mouth. Taken of both and given adlamabad (yuflama). After 6 shots again a hot burning and creeping feeling all over my scalp and the hair loss started suddenly. Told to stop everything for an 8 week washout as suspected i also had fibromyalgia given all the pain I was in and key sympyoms. This Friday i was rediagnosed with RA plus Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. Quite a shock. In a very bad way at the mo with fatigue and pain and had to succumb to a steroid injection giving some relief. Waiting to start a new anti - tnf biologic. Really worried the scalp/ hair issue will start again. The consultant said not to tolerate this as other drugs available and worst case an infusion. As I've had the burning scalp since the off, I am thinking it's the drugs agitating my fibromyalgia which they think have had all the time but was hidden behind the RA symptoms and may end up in a situation where to get the RA under control I may have to put up with the scalp/ hair issue. Has anyone else has a similar experience? Also whilst detoxing, have had a very bad IBD flare and bladder issues including blood in my urine which needs investigation. Hoping the biologics calm the Fibro symptoms. Again has anyone found this happened too and the drug helped their bladder and aches.Staying positive, re learning and re-adjusting life and energy use and getting there with accepting I'm never going to be who I was again which is hard but looking forward to what I can be, despite these physical issues but the drugs and symptoms feel scarey.

Burning scalp

Hi Woofywags, I have the same, horrendous burning scalp, one of my many symptoms with having Fibromyalgia. I'm now extremely sensitive to Gluten, gluten can obviously found in food but it's also in shampoos & other cosmetics.
Get vegan shampoos and conditioners check that it states gluten free. Cut down on gluten in foods also. I'm hypersensitive to Monosodium Glutamate, causes me massive pain, but watch it its hidden with so many different names like yeast extract, E621 autolised yeast etc etc.
Fibromyalgia and psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis run hand in hand so to say if you have scalp psoriasis go to the doctors, they'll give you a coal tar shampoo & steroid liquid medication. T-Gel can be bought from any superstore or pharmacy.
Hope this helps
