Hi i was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year, I went to GP with pain all over my body with the worst being my feet it was very difficult to walk. I was referred to a podiatrist and given insoles to support the arch in my feet, then on my follow up appointment she thought my pain was caused by something else, she didn’t diagnose me with fibromyalgia but told me to see my GP which I did, it was then I was told it was fibromyalgia. I was given pregabalin and co-codamol the co-codamol to use as and when . The pain medication does relieve it but when I get a flare up it is excruciating and don’t know what to do with myself.

I think it was the mysterious foot pains that after years of aches and pains elsewhere actually prompted my diagnosis too.

I take 30mg of Duloxetine and recently started taking magnesium supplements to help with the feet and leg pains.

Thank you for your reply Moorlandviews. I’m glad you got your diagnosis in the end, not so good it was fibromyalgia but a least you know what you are dealing with,Does magnesium help?

I have had a flare up the last 4 days has been unbearable just having clothes on hurts, my feet and hands feel like they are burning at night I have to sleep with my hands and feet out from under the covers.

Best wishes

Yes I do think that the magnesium helps - I take tablets before bed at the moment but I’m going to try using some spray to top up in the day after walking the dog etc.

I try and rotate my footwear too - although finding anything comfortable has been very difficult. How can you tell if shoes fit if your feet are already in pain?!

exactly! I do use the insoles that the podiatrist gave me and I just put them in whatever shoes I’m they do help a little bit, but you can sure feel the difference when you don’t wear them.

I shall look into the magnesium to see if it helps.

Thank you x

HiI was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia in September 2015. My Dr referred me to a rheumatologist who after examining me said "You've got fibromyalgia. I can't help you!" That was It!! I then had to go back to my Dr. One of the pain killers he prescribed was Co-codamol 30/500. It just takes the edge off for a few minutes . That's only because I'm on other painkillers as I have a multitude of health conditions!! I have pain 24/7, I have an hour or less sleep per night due to pain and when I do get some sleep because I'm exhausted, I then wake up in agony 🤷 🤦

Hope you have some relief very soon. I am in constant pain due to other conditions as well.

Love and hugs Lynne xxxx 💖

Hi Latics 1989-90 I so feel for you with your pain, I am on a cocktail of drugs as well but the co-codamol does help me a bit but I do have to take every 4-6 hrs to the recommended dosage to keep the pain at bay.

I do hope you get some comfort for your pain 🙏 xx

Hi, I have had fibromyalgia for 20 plus years. My feet have just started to hurt like pins and needles, also very cold and sore to walk on. Hot water bottle helps temporary. None of my current meds help. I am on gabapentin for my fibromyalgia.
