PIP telephone Asessment

hello Everyone,

I hope you are all as good as you can be especially with the weather changing.

I guess I’m just looking for an avenue to vent really! I requested for a review of my pip as my health declined this year with hospital admissions etc.

so I had my telephone assessment well more like an interview yesterday and it took 2hours! the assessor wouldn’t let my husband prompt me, he kept saying no I need you to tell me the information. We explained to him my issues with brain fog and losing focus when I’m under pressure. He just kept shutting us down.

At a point he asked how I managed at a job interview I got for working fully remote. I had to explain it was virtual and I had reasonable adjustments with a support worker while I was in the interview. He then didn’t say anything but it was an awful experience for me!

I felt like I was under interrogation, every time he kept saying why why why….. what happens when you go here and here. This is after explaining to him I don’t go out without support because of anxiety, sudden pain onset, dizzy spells that I don’t have a pattern for.

It was just horrible. I was able to record it, and I asked if I could have a copy of the report, he said I have to ask DWP for that so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Anyway Rant over!! I hope people that have had similar experiences as me have had a positive result.

Take care everyone and fingers/toes crossed for me! 🤣

yes I’m afraid you will have to ask DWP for a copy. Once you receive a text message to say they have the report you can phone and request a copy. That should then give you an idea of the likely award. It will also get you ahead of the game should you need to apply for an MR.

Try and forget about it for a few days, easier said than done I know. Do hope you get the desired outcome. It certainly is an inhumane experience.

I’m feeling unwell today due to a low pressure system hanging over us. Had an Epsom salts bath and felt better for a little while. Now sitting in my rocker against a heating pad. Still feel awful. Think I’ll go to bed early.
