I moved to a bungalow last year as the stairs were getting too much and the toilet was upstairs. Since moving my pain is alot worse. I need a bath, I have a walk in wet room but it's cold and my bath used to relieve me of alot of the stiffness and pain. Can I get a bath put into my wetroom? I'm in nottingham and live in a council bungalow. I have had flare ups nearly every month this year and it's really getting to me now.

Hi, I'm a fibro sufferer and I desperately need to soak in heat.
Don't think they will because it defeats the idea of a wetroom, well my friend was refused but each council is different. You can apply for a disabled facilities grant and ask them what they think.
You can actually buy an inflatable bath on Amazon if you have a drain in the floor but make sure you can get out of it as I suddenly wasn't able to use my legs to stand up to get out. Unfortunately I'm never to feel the warmth of sitting in a bath again. I now have a shower stall and literally sit under the water till I feel the heat has helped my muscles.
I've same issue & miss my bathing Try occupational therapy they maybe able to help ..plus my shower was just a dribble so changed the shower head to increase water flow made a big difference Still miss having a soak to ease the aches n pains away Good luck 😉
Hi I am excatly the same I live in nottingham moved to a bungalow cause of health I have a wet room which is what they seem to be putting in all council properties now not just bungalows. I have enquired about a bath through the occ therapist and a grant and it's not gonna happen I can even get them to change the toilet as there is no money they say and I have not been able to go to the toilet by myself in years so just have to live with it. I have bought some electric heat pads which help a little on a morning but yes I agree bungalows are a lot colder and more expensive to heat they did tell me that even if we had the money to change it ourselves we would most likely not even get permission as the wetroom is more suitable to future tenants and if we ever moved would have to have the bathroom put back to a wetroom at our expense it is like they just don't care and we stuck either being prisoners in a house with stairs and a bath or in a bungalow that is cold but can move around I guess a flat would have been better but even a lot of thous now have wetroom to
It's disgusting how they just leave us i honestly wish I'd stayed in my house 😔 not much joy with this condition as it is and no bath and freezing wet room with rubbish shower is literally draining the life out of me, my hands and feet are always cold and im in constant pain since moving here 🙃
IThey never really have cared especially here in nottingham bankrupt council and the vulnerable made to suffer for there greed and mistakes. I have got an electric blanket as well so when I am starting to flare which is constant the last 2 months I have that on the bed but I put it on in the morning so the heat get straight into me I found it helps on a morning but I can't take it at nigh and it only costs about a penny an hour to run might be worth giving it a try as heating pads are not always hot enough to ease the pain it helps till the meds kick in but even them don't make as much difference as they used to
I can't see them doing that as it is they have no money (also in Nottingham in a bungalow). I struggle to get them to do repairs, I end up having to complain half of the time and even then the only do half a job and then have to come back out which just costs them more money.
Our council is terrible, all because they "misspent" money.
I have reminded them on more than one occasion that the property isn't mine, it's theirs, so if they don't want to look after it, it's on them.
