How long will I wait to get a universal credit medical?

Hi, haven't posted for a while. Sent in my UC50 form in July? Anyone know how long you usually wait to get an appointment for a medical? Also, has anyone been granted enough universal credit to cover their rent? I was on housing benefit, and the universal credit is over £200.00 less!! Just wondered if anyone has a similar problem. Thanks x

According to what I have just read on the Citizens Advice site it could be up to 3 months after they have received the form. I presume it will vary from region to region according to how many applicants they have to process. Good luck.x

Hi

As Rosewine says it depend how busy thay are in your area

As for getting full rent cost UC award is based on the whole family income so you circumstances will be different to others .

And the HB cap is different from area to area

Hi, I was taken off ESA 2 yrs ago and had to claim UC. My dr signed me off every month for over a year. So I didn't have to job search, luckily I had a pleasant work coach and he rang me every month to sign up. They sent me the form June 2017 which I must have sent in within the month time scale. This Feb 2018 they started making an appt for me to see their dr. It was cancelled about 4-5 times, finally sent a cab for me, around June met the doc. Got put on the group where I now don't have to do anything thank god. But the good news is if they find you worthy they back dated my UC for the year. Im 64 so still have untill next Sept to retire. You have to make sure you keep your Insurance stamps to be paid, as this is what pays our very late pension in later years. I live in Southeast Sussex.

Hi, thanks for the information. I have to send in a sick note each month too. As I am in what's called the assessment phase, they are still getting me in for regular appointments. Next one in two weeks. Going to see the council today, for discretionary housing payment. Not sure that everyone knows about it, I only found out by accident! Waiting for my medical now. Thanks for the advice, have a good day.
