Tips for Managing/Improving Symptoms/Working Full-Time?

Hi everyone!

So I might be starting a new full-time job and I would really love if you could send me all of your tips for anything and everything that has helped you with your symptoms!

In previous jobs I have been absolutely exhausted, burnt out and sick a lot. This job will be slightly different and it's something I should really enjoy so I want to look into everything that might help me. Like supplements, food, drink, exercises.

Thank you in advance!

Hello , depending on what sort of job you may taking on I would think could be hard working full time, pacing as much as you can on breaks, drinking fluids eating a fairly good diet would help , hopefully getting some down time after each day, scheduling time out if you get weekends off ? If your sitting down ie like an office job you would proberly need too stand and stretch out occasionally, take it day too day and hope it works out for you.

Hi ExploringPandaCongratulations on the job.

Pace when possible.

Be realistic with chores at home/ take help/ask for help/ leave for another time.

Prioritise sleep.

Bath salts.

De-stress.

Get your family support up and running if you have some.

Learn to say no.(top tip)

I take vit D and Selenium but ask your medical team and have regular blood tests.

Reasonable adjustments at work are support to continue not failure. I had leave to go home at short notice to avoid chronic fatigue. It meant I could drive safely home.

If you need equipment / help with stuff to stay at work ring Access to work for an assessment.

Adjust your activity /exercise outside work if your job is demanding.

Take care and all the best.

good luck , every day is a struggle but I’d say just deal with one day at a time with what ever meds that can give you the strength to get you through the day and have a successful day 🙂

Well done for getting the Job you wanted. I would say your mindset is key to work through your tasks every day and understand how to not push to hard at over achieving your goals they will happen as time goes on.

If you sitting at a desk all day keep you legs moving and Stretching to keep your muscles soft. Make sure your employees let's you get up and move about every so often in your working day.

Take all breaks allowed and more if you need them .

Take a moment

Thinking about what the day involves and how you will take on responsibility which might affect you like stress around deadlines.

Trust your self you can do this and listen to the messages your body is sending you .

Do some deep breathing exercises to help you stay calm. Make sure your office chair is comfortable for you and perhaps your feet on a foot rest.

Drink lots of water 💧 take vitamins. Changes your lifestyle. Look at your diet . Look at food that gives you energy and vitamin C 🫐 blueberries and strawberries 🍓 and blueberries eat a healthy lunch don't skip lunch your body will need it. Wear comfortable shoes to support your muscles and back.

Eat breakfast if possible. Snack on fruits or nuts to keep your energy levels high.

If the environment feels cooler than your body likes wear clothing which will support your body temperature. Don't get cold if possible as your muscles could hurt.

Look at some chair exercises on YouTube and do some research in self-help and sitting or standing which affects you.

There are many things you can do help you while working and at home.

If your pain levels are high while at work keep stretching till the pain goes away.

Look at your local community and do an referral online to talking therapist who will also support you and help maintain your goals. They are great in supporting long term illnesses.

I not sure if my suggestions will be suitable for you . but they worked for me . Be kind to yourself don't over do things like household jobs. Train yourself not to get overwhelmed when feeling under the weather because of fibromyalgia you will meet some goals no problem and other will take longer . 😊 that doesn't matter.

I feel you will active your goals and learn new ones as well.

Be proud of yourself you will be fine and happy it's important for you to stay very positive what ever the outlook . Be that shing star 🌟 your doing something you love. Good luck and god bless you . Big hug. Xx

Hi ExploringPanda,

Take your time, rest when you need to, get plenty of sleep, pace yourself and only do what you can do. Try not to stress or impress or it will be expected of you all the time. Most of all enjoy your new job, take the little pleasures each day from it.

Good Luck🍀xx

for energy, half an hour before breakfast ubiquinol and NMN, then the B’s and Rhodiola rosea during the day, for muscle pain magnesium malate, for brain energy, Alpha GPC, for memory huperzine, to help sleep magnesium taurate, D3, zinc, thiamin . All of these work for me.
