This medication helps to calm down the nerve signals to the brain so l do not feel the pain so much.

It does help me so that l can get on with work during the day.

in this age people automatically check their prescription table and get scared to take them because the side effects printed are horrific.

On the other hand there are an awful lot of people who go in Gung-ho. I had a friend come round to my house one time and they wouldn't stop ticking. I thought they were doing it on purpose? Like to annoy? They seriously couldn't stop. And I seriously found it drove ME up the pole! When I asked about it, we finally nailed down they were taking new meds. What were they I asked, laptop at the ready. The side effects were SERIOUS. See your prescriber ASAP!. It took ages for the ticks to subside after the meds were stopped. Had they already done permanent damage? I don't know.

Not sharing that to say all meds are dreadful, but to suggest, to be aware of how you feel taking your new meds. Hopefully you feel better. However, some side effects even ones that can seem minor or just kinda weird, can be indicative of more.

As a sensitive fibro, I have a few WARNINGs on my record now.

Hi,

I think maybe speak with your GP and ask for other options for pain relief as they have many other ones that you could possibly try and it is just a matter of trying different ones until you find one that is more suitable to you.

Yeah I’ve tried all sorts. Doc wants to put me back on pregabalin but trying high dose ibuprofen at the moment

Hi, I would be very careful taking Ibrufen. I was diagnosed over 30 years ago, and then medical profession knew very little about Fibro. I was given ibrufen and took for a year or so and it totally screwed up my stomach. Apart from anything else it doesn’t help anyway. At the very least, make sure that give you something to protect your stomach which they do now. Insist on it to your GP.

Can't go back, can you? Kinda feels like our job to gently warn others.

Yeah I know about the issues with ibuprofen. I am taking something to protect my stomach too as I had an ulcer (caused by ibuprofen) 10 years ago. I’m only taking it when I absolutely need it and it’s working for the time being. Nothing seems to work forever though does it 😢
