Abdomen and groin pain

In November I started with pain in my abdomen and groin .I thought it was a water infection results came back negative.

I play everything down as I had no diagnosis at this point.

In December / January I took 3 weeks off work. I felt like death with the symptoms plus pain in my head ,neck ,shoulders, back ,arms, legs , I also had costochondritis. I ended up ringing and speaking to a lady doctor told her I was at the end and couldn't stand the pain anymore to which I got an appointment it was a male doctor .

I told him I need a diagnosis gave him my sheet of paper with all my symptoms on . He basically told me to make an appointment for bloods and gave me the fibromyalgia syndrome diagnostic worksheet SSI &WPI score, I scored 28 points.

I had to wait 5 weeks for my bloods which should have been today but got cancelled this morning now I have to wait another 4 weeks for my bloods just to rule out my ovaries etc. I said to my doctor if my bloods come back normal is this a fibromyalgia flare-up his answer was " probably " I had the symptoms about 3 months it's now settled down to what it was ..has anyone else had abdominal and groin pain ?

Hi there, a fast answer yes. Had the same problem myself many many times. The last 3 days been the latest.

But one thing I would say if in doubt get it checked out.

With fibromyalgia the pain signals can be sent anywhere in your body so the answer to your question is yes however your GP is making sure other causes are ruled out which from a patient point of view is good practice. Sadly waits for answers can be frustrating however if there are any comforts to be found you will know that it's fibromyalgia and not possibly a more serious condition.
