Can I ask anyone that drives with fibromyalgia did they have to report this to dvla?
I’ve just been awarded adp(Scotland) for standard rate on living and mobility and also getting a blue badge …. I looked on website but it’s not a listed condition

Fibromyalgia is not a notifiable condition however if your symptoms or medication affect your driving, and you are in an accident it could affect your insurance
thank you angelstar I don’t drive at all now anyway but do want to keep my licence in case I need in future…. I’ve been in touch with dvla and I am awaiting response I will also notify my insurance too
never contacted DVLA with fibro just insulin dependent diabetes. Then had to fill in form about related appointments with GP and consultants, and lack of hypos…. then got new license with picture just excluding driving lorries or some such. I really only wanted it for the newer style card to be useful for identification.
Hi , I do drive but have not notified them about it. I don't take additional medication for fibro apart from over the counter painkillers. I just use my common sense, if I don't feel up to it... feeling stiff and in pain, then I don't drive.
I had an eye condition - double vision etc, following on from hurting my neck ( that's when the fibro started) going back and forth to the hospital as they thought I might have had a mini stroke... I hadn't, but it coincided with when I had to renew my licence and dvla sent me a form to be endorsed by my g.p.... as a result I had numerous letters going back and forth checking if I was fit to drive. It took months.
Prior to that, when I was on antidepressants quite a few years ago, I contacted dvla to query it and I was told that I couldn't drive! So I stopped driving for 6 months until I stopped taking the meds, even though they sharpened my concentration and didn't make me drowsy as I took it at night.
Be very careful Tabbyxx I lost my Bus licence, But NOT my normal, I failed my medical, On the buses when you get to 45yrs old You get checked often, and yet I can continue to drive my car????
My doctor asked if I was still driving and I truthfully told her no, Because I wasn't,
We are collecting our WAV car up tomorrow thankgod, It makes things easier getting to appointments, I loved driving but I wouldn't If Hubby wasn't with me or I felt I couldn't then I wouldn't,
As we all know Fibro is an up and down sort of illness, So it surely should be common sense?? If you feel well enough, Hope you find the answers you are looking for
