Hi, sounds the same as me. It’s exhausting isn’t it 😫

Have you been prescribed anything to help?

I was only diagnosed Sep 23 so fairly recent but need to sort out medication with doctors as pain clinic didn’t mention anything and now it’s been over 6 weeks.

Hope you’re having a ‘good day’ 🤞🏻

Ree x

I was diagnosed Feb 2022. It's been a long journey. I've learned a lot about my body. I didn't want to keep taking all the meds. I now take paracetamol, reduced to 30mg duloxetine and now max 10mg nortryptaline- I was on a lot of meds prior. I'd like to reduce it more, but this will be a slow process.I was referred to the Pain Clinic, this took nearly 12mth to get an appointment and have gained a lot from this once I had my first appointment. I have been taught (via the pain clinic) how to do acupuncture on myself, learned a lot about the reasons why and how our body deals/reacts to pain. I learned about the nervous system.

I now have monthly reiki sessions, do daily breathwork, meditate, twice weekly acupuncture, massage and ice/cold water bath once per week. Pace myself a lot, plan my weeks particularly if I have appointments, shopping activities or other days out/other plans. Pacing has been the biggest learning curve, learned to say no and stop pushing through pain, rest when you can and sleep well. I take magnesium or spray this on my legs at bedtime - works wonders for a great sleep.

Look after yourself and take time to learn and understand your body X

Thankyou so much for all the advice, I go back to GP in 2 weeks and am going to ask for referral to pain clinic, pain just really gets me down sometimes but yes have been learning to pace since before my diagnosis but every day is different x

Hi.Pain clinics.

It's just like talking to someone who just sits there and asks how are you getting on with your medication etc.

Waste of time sorry

Hello, I keep doing the pacing method at home, set tasks ,stop have a cuppa and a stretch, go again and stop , slow up if fatigue is partically heavy ,and do not beat yourself up as some days better than others. evening s is switch off completely time for me after dinner ,nice Epsoms bath soak, a good film or series on the TV or just relax with nice background music. A good forum too have a chat, read good advice from members in this very big unwanted club xx
