PiP ReAssessment

I received a letter for a reassessment one year early. Contacted them and explained that my present award has over a year to go, only to be informed that they will be "reconsidering a great many people's awards". Spoke with a friend unofficially at the Home Office - he said the aim is to remove the awards from 30% of those currently claiming. I suspect that a few of us may get these letters so gird your loins and be ready. Keep smiling on ......

Hi there, like Ajay said. Its always been the case where your award can be assessed 12 months prior to you deadline date. This as always been normal procedure

As Ajay and Dizzy say a year in advance is normal practice. I fill in review forms for a relative and his award expires in March next year and we sent the review forms back at the beginning of April. Had an acknowledgement from DWP but that is all. There is an enormous backlog due to them processing, quite rightly, new claims first.

Goodmorning I had same got letter extending award by another year as filled in renewal form last November but had text saying they looking at my assessment. Today got my consultation over phone for 12th Oct 830am rang up requesting recording of assessment but they couldn't book one so was told they are rebooting phone call when I can have it recorded and have benefit Advisor with me iam worried something will go wrong as requested later date with recording hoping my payment doesn't stop or they mess up and ring me on day they can't do recording still so stressed with all this and I sure they are pushing people off or cutting awards just to save money hoping we give up

Thanks everyone! In my case, my last experience is that they've sent my paperwork about four months before expiration due. This award was until August 2025 so I was assuming that I wouldn't hear until 2024 at earliest. Apparently, part of the drive is to get disabled people back into employment via "work from home" ..... A bit difficult for me as a scientist unless they are going to build me my own lab 😂.

Oh that was so funny, thank you for the chuckle. I needed it'Work from your own lab'

It wouldn't surprise me if they wanted everyone to try that.

Bless you pet. You take care of yourself and try your best. There are supposed to be changes coming, only heaven knows what they will have in mind.

Take care

Hi

The reward letter confuses people

If it says you have been awarded say 4 yr they assess at 3 yrs .. the pandemic has effected allot of claims and an extre yr had been added because they are so very much behind

I was given an extre yr on mine

I was assessed yr 2018 reassessment due was yr 2023 I received my letter saying it had been extended for another 12 months

I was reassessed this yr 2023 which is the date on my decision

Always assume you are going to be reassessed the yr before the yr on the decision letter … so if you get 4 yrs you should be reassessed in 3

Hi LhasaMomma, i've got a review this month when my existing award is until Jan 2024 as I had a stroke 3 years ago and have other health issues too. I live in Scotland so PIP has now changed to Adult Disability Payment. A bit cheeky but my circumstances have changed in that my health is now worse so maybe a good thing being reviewed early.
