Why is fibro still a syndrome and not a disease?
The syndrome, Because they cant quite put their finger on it and don't want to commit!
Disease, From two words mushed together,
Dis, Disruption
Ease, A natural state to the body
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I like the part you said disruption, fibro certaintly is that, when you take it literally day too day because 2 days are never the same for sure x
Something I wrote a while ago:
Condition or disease
It will depend on who you are talking to and when, as the words are used interchangeably as well as syndrome, condition and disease. Illness is a broad overarching category like condition but we may refer to fibro as thought be a central nervous system disorder and it is referred to a syndrome in a lot of situations. Also some doctors will refer to it as a disease that we are unsure of its cause or pathology
Some miss the word syndrome off, however I feel it rather accurately describes a condition where sufferers may be affected differently but share some similar characteristic symptoms. Syndrome is derived from the greek meaning 'concurrence' or 'run together,' so for me fibromyalgia syndrome makes more sense.
From what I've read, it seems to be attributed to an auto immune response...like raynaud's and rheumatoid arthritis, both of which I have as well as fibro... great!.
