fibromyalgia advise

hi all, just wanted some advise as I’m struggling and frustrated, I’m on 90mg duloxtine since December it was working really well for a while but each time it’s increased I eventually much get used to it and my symptoms return

Aches and pains, IBS, sleep problems like night sweats and excessive dreaming and anxiety which leaves me tired and panicking all day

Is there anything else that could help me, I swim often and try to keep fit, I give myself plenty of sleep to try to help myself, I try to eat healthy but maybe certain foods could be better, any advice would be much appreciated, thankyou x

Hello , I read your trying very hard with gentle swimming and getting plenty of sleep , I take one 60mg tablet at nite but if my pain, anxiety etc gets worse i am prescribed too double up (take one in the morning). I’d differently speak too your doctor on a call back slot today if you can , sweating I get as I think I read it’s a side effect so I drink plenty of water early evening and if I wake up during the night (I too get some weird dreams not sure if medication related 😩, I do get IBS some days again I think I read people with fibro get this . Hopefully speaking too your doctor /or another at your surgery will put your mind at rest with advice and help xx

Were you getting all of your symptoms before you started Duloxetine, or did any of them start after starting it , or after the dose went up over a certain dose?Do you take it in one dose or two or three doses?

Are you taking any other medications or supplements ( not just for Fibro but any condition you might have )?

Do you have any other health conditions that might also be causing some of your symptoms?

Hope you don't mind me asking these questions but a bit of extra information will help members like myself to give you some more help or advice that is relevant to your individual needs. Hope you are happy to reply , take care , Bee

I was getting all the symptoms before duloxtine then they cleared up but after a while on the dosage my symptoms returned so I kept getting increased dosage, I’m now after another doctors phone call they r increasing me to 120mg, I’m to take one in morning and one in evening so I’m praying this will work, thanks for replying to me, take care

Hi. I have also been on duloxetine for fibro and the best dose to keep your pain under control is 120mg so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you now. It will definitely help with your anxiety as well. Being an SNRI it works differently to most anti anxiety meds which is why we get the pain relief. Give it a couple of weeks at this dose and see how it goes. I'm afraid if you get the dreams as a side effect this will probably continue. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes and good luck my love x
