Streuth....what a rotten time you're having. Try boiling the water then cool. I'm going to stock up with Imodium for Christmas!

I have a bottle of Peptac (mint or anissed ) by my bed. As well as helping to stop reflex it also stops nausea. I usuallly have a big teaspoonful before going to sleep, then when necessary. Big hug from me

Thank you, I just looked it up, it has sweetners in it, I would imagine though it’s the same thing as my gaviscon. Thanks for the thought

Yes, take meds for it and try to avoid foods that I know are triggers

medications cause most of the acid reflux we get.

Ask your GP for Omeprazole to counter act.

Good morning 🔆!Yes I get this too but only since taking Venlafaxine it's horrible 😞 I sympathize.

I use a natural mint syrupy liquid the is natural (I live in France) it works instantly albeit a bit thick and yukky to swallow.

Perhaps a health food shop could advise for something similar 🤔.

Warm wishes ⛄☀️

Gosh yes! Omeprazole and Fanatidine plus 4 doses of Gaviscon Advance...nothing is touching it...drat! Many tests later I have yet more today, Manometry and a 24 Ph test. Not looking forward to these.

I suffered for about a year, waking up choking nearly every night, it didn’t matter what I ate, ended up having a camera put down and although they couldn’t find anything major going on I did have some polyps and inflammation, was put on esomaprazole they keep trying to wean me off the high dose but every time I reduce it I am sick in the night so still on the high dose, they have noted I have Gastrointestinal reflux disease so I guess something I have to live with 😢 speak to your doctor don’t leave it it too late like I did and make sure you have plenty of Gaviscon on hand ready for Xmas x

Yes! I take omeprazole twice daily, helps a bit. Also a swig of Gavisgon or chemist own brand at bedtime can sometimes help too. Elevating your mattress even slightly with pillows underneath or you can buy a wedge pillow to sleep on, have looked at them but I haven't tried them personally. Since having my gallbladder removed mine has eased considerably. Still careful with what I eat though! Hope you find something to help, it's horrible to live with 🤗

there are soooo many things that can make it worse. Red wine and chocolates are the worst culprits. Also fatty foods eg a fry up, mint, garlic, raw onions, over-eating, rich foods. I’ve tried everything going and the only thing that works for me although not completely is mastika, although you have to take it for at least a month. Have you tried baking soda and water to neutralize the acid or apple cider vinegar.

Yes i do and was sent for tests and I have esophageal spasm it's another thing to add to the list. It's when food gets stuck in your throat a pain down your arm and through your chest like a heart attack speak to your gp

Yes, I do, I have been taking Lanzaprazole for the past 3 years! It works well for me, I take 15mg-30mg a day depending on how bad it is. Please see your GP, and they will prescribe you something.

You've probably already tried this, so forgive me if it sounds.... I found I suffer much less if I eat my evening meal before 6.30 so that I leave 4 hours for my body to digest the food before bedtime. It can be a bit anti-social, but seems to be more accepted these days.

I hope you find relief.

Hello, have you been too see your doctor about this recently ? I was put on lansprazole for acid which does its job well , I did have a camera down throat(sedated) then turned out I had a hiatal hernia which I am told can be quite common in women over a certain age. All in all the tablets do there job and no being uncomfortable at all. Take care x

Hi Softbabe

Have you tried Actimel? My indigestion used to be awful, I started to get Actimel and my stomach is not as bad. Unfortunately, there is one big drawback and that's the price. I think its pricey, but its a toss up wether I want to pay for it, or have a roiling upset stomach.

Good Luck &HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Try eating your evening meal no later than 6.30 to 7. Sleep on your left side only and raise pillows. Also avoid very rich, spicy or fatty foods in general and keep meals to a small size. Better to eat little and often.

Yes, I get it instead of IBS, which seems to have gone away.

My oesophagus is scarred, and I have a hernia where I came 'unzipped' after having my gall bladder removed, so I get reflux a lot, especially if I've been working bent over. Not the most pleasant feeling.

Cheers, Midori
