Hi Rosetta2014

I was wondering if you have discussed this issue with your doctor? I have similar issues and I was prescribed Ranitadine, it works very well for me and there are not many side effects with this medication.

Take care

Ken

It was near my diaphram but it was small. If it had gotten large then I would have had to have it removed surgically.

I've got a confirmed hiatus hernia. Just a small one. It doesn't go away with out an op apparently but when small like mine omeprazol every morning does the trick. X

I have been on an acid reducer for over 20 years. The best medicine for reflux is sold OTC and it's Zegrid. It works in minutes. I think our stomach's don't work as well with fibro. Why I haven't a clue. I know my first symptoms were fatigue and stomach issues. I'm having them now, and have another doctors app to see what now. Oh The Wonderful World Of Fibro. Better to laugh than cry. Hope this helps sweetheart.xxx Mitzi

Mitziblue,

I hear you loud and clear

I have found that IBS comes with fibro, Fibro effects every part of our body, I had a emergency gallbladder removal in 2012 most people with fibro lose their gallbladder and have hiatal hernias and ulcers.

Yes, I had my gallbladder removed in 2001. I've had ulcers to. Last month I had the scopes up one end and down the other. I had two polyps in my colon and a fungus in my esophagus. Also my stomach was irritated. I've taken 2 prescriptions of the meds but still having stomach issues. It really stinks. When your stomach hurts you feel bad all over, not counting the constant pain from the fibro. Hope you feel better honey!!! xxx Mitzi

The Buprenorphine is ready for pick up so I will start today, I also developed 30% decrease esophageal motility so it take longer for my food or drink to go down and I am nauseated everyday and I am taking meds for that. I also had to have a gastric bypass in April because my thyroid caused me to gain 80lbs in 2 years and the weight gain was increasing, I also take .25 of levothyroxin once a day Fibro also causes a abnormal thyroid. I am so stiff I can barely walk and my muscle hurt with every move. So I understand and you are not alone in this pain.

That's so weird I've been gaining weight while dieting. I've had my thyroid checked but it comes back normal. Did yours come back normal in the beginning? Hope it makes you feel better!!! xxx Mitzi

Hello mitziblue, I had my thyroid checked many times and it came back as normal, but these tests are based on an average, and yours could be out of balance. Eventuly the results came back as not right, and I then went onto Levothyroxine at 100mg, then after a month, another thyroid blood test, up to 200mg, and on it I stayed until I was seen by the dibetic specialist who told me to lower to 175mg. So there is were I am, I do feel tired and worn out, but I hope my Levothyroxine ddose is still working. The only thing is , my weight is still a big problem to me, despite the treatment for an underactive thyroid gland. such is life ttfn

I know that it's hard to find the right balance for thyroid medicine. I pray that you get the help you need. Sounds like you have really been through it. I know I have and it's a never ending battle. Keep in touch. xxxx Mitzi

It came back slightly abnormal but not enough to cause the weight gain or hair loss but they put me on the lowest dose of levothyroxin possible my highest weight was 233 lbs and I was gaining 8-10 a month I had developed type 2 diabetes. A years earlier I awoke one morning covered with hives and the only thing that would control them was 60mg daily of the steriod Pednisone the hives lasted a year, chronic hives is rare so after my Allergist could not wean me off the Prednisone he had me see a Allergist that speciality was Chronic Hives and there was only one in this area. He said that my thyroid was causing the hives so when they started me on the levothyroxin I was weaned off the prednisone in 3 month. So I decided to have a gastric sleeve only to discover my esophagus motility was slowed down by 30% so I had to have a bypass instead. I had it April 9th 2014. My weight loss is very slow as of now I've only loss 29lbs.

Hi i have hiatus hernia small, acid reflux sickness,i take omaprazole, domperidome sickness, cycazine on bad days.consultant said too risky for surgery because of my thyroid being underactive and my other problems.

Hi to all, I find that having an underactive thyroid to be a real test of strength, I still have weight issues, massive hair loss (more in the shower drain, than on my head!), the tiredness, the effect of cold onmy feet and hands is so tiring on the body and mind. To all I have read about, who are waiting to have gastric surgery, it must be soul destroying to get so far and then be told, you cannot get the operation you had hoped for because of your thyroid condition. Please accept my sympathy for the operation being so far out of your reach, you all wanted to have something done to give you the chanse to go forward, ttfn

I've had a hiatal hernia for a fair few yrs now. Unfortunately because of so many other problems within me, i just think that they try to find out about it, so many Endoscopys. I don't know if there is anything that works properly in my whole body. Anyway, my Dr seems to forget half of my problems. In 2009, i had a referal for another Endoscopy, i found it a couple of yrs later. I could just make out the hand writing. "Early signs of Barettes. For all i know i could be riddled with cancer & he's none the wiser. I've already been diagnosed with Emphysema, 4 yrs ago on March 2nd. I really don't know what to do anymore. I thought the specialists would stay on top of everything. Take care. Thanks.
