I hope everyone is doing as well as they can today. Sending gentle hugs.
I need to get a new bed as I seem to be in more pain as I think my mattress has collapsed on my side. it is a mattress that has two different sides. When we bought it about 12 years ago it was perfect and really reduced my pains whilst in bed. My husband is still happy with his half so I am struggling to persuade him to that we need to change it. The mattress we have is no longer made.
Can anyone share what mattresses they have found have helped them please.

I personally love tempur memory foam mattresses and find them most comfortable - but memory foam isn't for everyone. And does hubby not know that you need to replace your mattress on a regular basis
we have a hippo in pj, springs matteress, with a upside down egg box memory foam topper currently in a duvet cover to make moving easy, our bed base is slatted wood,
memory foam matteresses needs a base not slats. found this out first hand. Also the foam density is different for for weight range of person, the one we got deflated with both our different weight🙄 so was returned and old matteress used till went to get a firm spring one.
would go to your local bed place for a lay down, they may be able to deliver. If not at least have a comfort rating and favoured brand name can look online.
I found induvudual pocket springs worked better for me (tge more pockets the better) with a 2 inch memory foam (like a eggbox/honeycomb) mattress topper. I yearn for my old mattress sadly not made any more (or maybe its my memory playing tricks remembering pre-fibro sleeps!).
I agree with Hazel give him alittle nudge as they do say mattresses should only be used for some many years, memory foam I have found brilliant but yes do go and try some out at your local store, there’s nothing worse than having rubbish nights through being uncomfortable and I’ve found since changing has made all the difference. I also have a foam topper, good luck hope you find something very soon and delivery is not long too get too you. As the saying goes Happy Wife Happy life 😉xx
the best mattress I have slept on was when on holiday on Isle of Mull.It was a Hypnia mattress.I have a firm mattress but not as good as when bought couple years ago plus one in spare bedroom that is soft.Darent buy another yet
I have a Simba mattress, and it has definitely made a difference to my sleep and comfort. My son and two daughters tried it and they have all bought them too, however what works for me may not work for you, why don't you go into a shop and try lying on some to give you an idea?
we have an IGEL mattress from Bedsons, it’s so unbelievably comfortable, we’ve had it for 7 years now and it’s still excellent and we would never have anything else now 😴😴😴😴😴
no there’d I have always used a memory foam this one I have now came from markka and Spencer’s it’s amazing . Every now and then I lift it up and down on my side to refresh it and when I change bed I put it hanging from the banister , it seems to refresh it somehow . Hope this helps I have fibromyalgia since a child and complex pain syndrome . Don’t buy those cheap ones you see advertised in papers they are no good . Xx
It’s taken me a few years to find my perfect mattress , finally I can get off to sleep and am totally comfortable….. I bought the “Premier Inn “ mattress as I’d slept on them when staying in a Premier Inn. Google Premier Inn mattress to buy and it will take you to the Company that make them . xx
I highly recommend a hybrid mattress. This is what worked for me after trying out a few memory foam and spring. Hybrid is the best “Goldilocks” bed for me. Many allow at least 90 days free trial. If they don’t, keep shopping! It’s the only way to know. I sent 3 mattresses back before I found my hybrid.
Hi Ange188, I recently bought a new bed, best one I have ever had in regards to sleep and reducing pain. It is a slumberland latex mattress, one of those which keeps u cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cold. It’s a firm mattress on a divan base. My partner is 6f 4 and about 19 stone, whilst I am quite petite, despite that there is no rolling into each other. He said it the best bed he has slept on aswell. It seemed a bit odd at first as my last mattress was quite soft but definetly best one I have slept on. X
Well I decided to take the plunge and buy a S***a Hybrid pro in the sale for my new flat and I loooooove it! Before this I had a memory foam topped S****t night and that one had springs which at times caused pain. This new mattress in my opinion is well worth the money. I bought it with easy payments and they even included a free mattress protector. I feel like I’m sleeping on a soft cloud and mine doesn’t get too hot. I won’t be going back and this one has a long guarantee too as long as u follow their turning advice. 🤗😊
I recently decided enough was enough and I needed a new mattress. I'd had it for yrs . I've bought a simba mattress. Not cheap...£500 but it is heaven. I wish I'd bought it sooner.
Try simba or if you prefer a firmer one try Otty. Go onto their website and take a look as you can pay them up rather than fork out loads of money in one go. Defo get the matching memory pillows if you can. They also helo with neck pain etc. You get 100 night sleep trials with both of them im sure so you can always change your mind and they have a 10 year guarantee from sagging etc. You defo need a divan with them though. Tell your hubby it can be your Xmas present 😂
