went to the doctors today as I have developed a burning sensation to the soles of my feet. He hasnt found any obvious cause and put it down to fibro. I can manage a decent walk in the morning but after that it's game over. I am so down hearted as walking was a lifeline with obvious benefits. I should have asked the Dr but can I continue to walk and suffer the pain or am I actually damaging my feet. Any prior experience or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

if GP has found no physical cause for the burning sensation, then it is unlikely that by continuing to walk you will cause any damage to your feet. My suggestion would be to pace your walking by walking for a comfortable distance, then stopping for a rest before continuing. It can be trial and error to find how far you can walk without causing the pain to flare too much.
perhaps a new pair of light shiny shoes may help, there are lots of walking ones, some with memory foam inside.
hope the pain goes soon
Hi, have you had your Vit B12 levels checked recently?
A short course of high strength B Complex might be worth a try.
Anything menthol, peppermint like vicks, magnesium spray or lotion, Epsom salts foot soak can be helpful.
hi john
I have had the same problem for nearly 10 years now. Immediate diagnosis before tests was fibro. I suffer alot of pain in my feet. Im 39 now. Any other symptoms aside from burning? I use nike air superrep on all my walks which is a must for reducing the impact. Cushioned slippers as cold effects them alot and any hard flat surfaces. Rheumatology have done blood tests but that is all. I hope its not a permanent problem that can be helped. Tc. Vicky
Could be something like Small Fibre Neuropathy, which often sits alongside fibro, and can have a number of causes. As CheetieCat says, could be low B12 (although better to get full testing done before you supplement, as it skews the results and makes an often hard to properly diagnose condition almost impossible), or low folate (don't supplement until you've ruled out a B12 D), or B6 (either too much or too little), or blood sugar imbalances (very common, and don't need to be even prediabetic for sugar to cause neuropathy), or low copper, low iron, low thyroid hormones, low vit D.........I'd be asking for a copy of test results so you know what doctor has done and where in range you are, then ask for or do your own to fill in the gaps. Best wishes
