Hi and a warm welcome to the forums. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our website fmauk.org and our patient information booklets at fmauk.org/publications
There is no blood test that will show up fibromyalgia, or any other tests
Trauma, such as from your car crash is a common trigger for fibromyalgia symptoms starting
Hi. Trauma like that, indeed any stress in its widest sense on the body, will deplete vitamins and minerals, and can be a trigger for other illness or autoimmunity. To make sure that nothing else is exacerbating your symptoms, I'd particularly be looking at your vit B12. All the Bs could be affected as well as vit C, magnesium, zinc. Might be worth asking GP for a copy of all test results so you know what has been looked at already. Any whiplash can also trigger thyroid dysfunction so you could just check that that has already been ruled out. You might find Datis Kharrazian's huge tome on brain function interesting too (Why Isn't My Brain Working?). Lots to help you understand what might be going on and things you can do or ask nurse about which may help you. Do you have family members with fibro, and/or other conditions which may be relevant, autoimmune or autoinflammatory? Cheers
PS just had a quick look at your previous posts and see that doctor mentioned fibro five years ago and that you had loading doses for low B12 and that your daughter has a B12 issue. Seems to be more going on here so might be worth pushing for a neuro or haem referral to make sure that the B12 is being adequately treated. You may have a genetic/epigenetic issue (there are many). You can do full PA/B12 D testing privately if necessary although expensive. B12 metabolism is strongly genetic, in fact I'm imminently going to be seeing Adult Inherited Metabolic Diseases specialists to see if they can help with our family problem. (If your B12 status was already poor, the vaccine or virus may have hit you disproportionately.)
Sorry to read of your crash, get your doctor too follow through with blood tests in general too rule out nothing else, some docs refer too rheumatologist, my doc diagnosed me after 6 months of fibro symptoms and clear blood tests , hope you get some answers very soon x
