Hi, I’m new here and was wondering if anyone could help me with what’s the best pain relief ? I’m yet to be diagnosed… fingers crossed I will finally get somewhere after 19years of pain. I’ve noticed my pain is becoming more unbearable this week and really struggling. Thank you
Update
spoke to Doctor she wants me to have bloods to rule out any inflammatory issues also requesting connective tissue scan… what ever that is?! She said it’s looking more like fibromyalgia but wants to rule out everything else. Thank you all for the advice.

Hi I also use Co codamol as I am unable to take any kind of anti inflammatory. It works ok for me though I am going to ask for a referral to the plain clinic as it's not working as good as it uses to. It's really just a case of trial and error I think when it comes to what works best. Good luck x
I do hope you get a diagnosis soon. I have had Fibro for many years and can’t take the strong pain meds offered, but I have learned to pace myself with what I can and can’t do on a daily basis, whether it’s anything or nothing, go with your body, listen to what it’s telling you and if you can’t do anything that day at that time, don’t do it. Be kind to yourself and if you have a family/friends net work speak to them , give them as much information you can about Fibro (when diagnosed) and don’t be afraid to ask for help and say no if you just can’t go out with friends or do anything on a certain day, you may look ok on the outside, but physically you will be wiped out some of the time. I’m sure there will be others on here that will give you support and their own ways of coping. You may be offered other therapies after diagnosis, but don’t go for everything at once, it’s a case of what you find helps you.
The other things I have found that help me, (everyone is different) is a TENS MACHINE,
FREEZE GEL OR SPRAY and I take 8 PARACETAMOL daily, I have also been prescribed PREGABALIN which when diagnosed you may be offered.
Hi there, welcome to our group 😊 I have fibro for 40yrs along with other spinal issues so can empathise with your pain.
I personally can not take strong medication of any kind. So for me I just have to take it one day at a time.
Getting a diagnoses of fibro sadly does not mean your GP will offer you anything stronger than OTC meds. Which you may already be taking.
Its now been shown that the strong pain meds do not work on fibro pain. So most GPs are reluctant to offer it to patients with fibro.
Also many fibro patients are been weened off strong pain meds.
But you need to talk with your GP and see what he can advise that will be the best to deal with your pain.
