As you are proposing the it would be sensible for you to expand on it and any sources as opposed to asking others to research it.

Well I've had a quick look. With severe fibro I'm eligible ;-). And also I'm up to everything that looks slightly promising. This doesn't to me.

It's an enzyme for energy regulation, like I've tried 2 before with if at all only very temporary help, NADH (also for energy) and serrapeptase - similarly to them the supplement costs 1€/d.

It works on the AMP to ATP ratio, balancing energy consumption to production, is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It is activated by loads of the foods and anti-inflammatory & antioxidant supps and cryotherapy & cold showering I already use. All these (incl. NADH and serrapeptase) have more evidence for helping with energy in my conditions, maybe not much, but seem to help me. This is just general, and the function it has in the body doesn't mean that it will work to supplement it, let alone for fibro.

So I've summed up what you've probably also read and compared to my experiences - if you think it might help you, please explain and try and report back ;-)

Hi there,

Thanks for your previous posts, much appreciated.

I have spent over three years (living with) and looking into a cure or something that could possibly benefit Fibromyalgia and those that suffer the multitude of symptoms that present with this ugly and very painful diagnosis. Surely, someone within the medical establishment has an idea of how to treat this? so i went in depth and spent far longer looking at the ingredients of which have been reported to help with this nervous / inflammatory condition.

AMPK is involved in the control of inflammatory processes and this has been observed to decline in those suffering with Fibromyalgia. The body then accumulates oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction, which in turn means that the body has a build up of unwanted cellular responses.

An AMPK uptake could well aid in this toxic build up within the biology.

Furthermore, i would recommend that people look at the most natural method in which to include this within their daily regimen either by taking natural herbs (given that there are no issues with kidney / liver function), or by including a mediterranean diet into their new regime and to abstain as much as they can from carbohydrates and sugar.

In addition, exercise does help, but i have yet to understand how this is acheived daily when the symptoms are horrendous most days.

I can only advise. If you choose to disagree, then also that's fair.

But if you are one of the many millions who suffer every day, My heart goes out to you.

i hope that this information helps you to discover that there are routes out there in medicine and health that have not been disclosed easily to the general public because of the industries involved and the financial losses incurred - Medical pharmaceuticals being one of them

Hi Cybergirl,

Surely, someone within the medical establishment has an idea of how to treat this?

Well I'm sure you like me found lots of ideas how to treat this, and that most don't work... ;-)

Again AMPK is really venturing on the outskirts of all treatments. In contrast, the other things you mention are completely normal recommendations even regularly made by researchers. Aside from herbs you've forgotten minerals and other supps like amino acids and other enzymes. Aside from Mediterranean diet & abstaining from carbs you've forgotten trialling eliminating other possible triggers like gluten, dairy, meat and FODMAP/fructans. Aside from exercises you've forgotten many kinds of manual therapy, stretches, heat/cold, electrotherapy etc. So I don't disagree with any of this, but I'm confused why you are leaping from there to AMPK, and why you think that these haven't been disclosed to the general public - they have, all of them. Also not sure why you are advising me, as I've been trialling and doing all the above for a long time now with a lot of knowledge on 100s of treatments? So if you need ideas on the 60 supps I've trialled which have more evidence, you're welcome to ask.

Also unsure why you're advising, altho you haven't found how to exercise best - If I may advise back: The key to exercise is increasing slowly from extremely short gentle stints (sometimes seconds), making sure anything you do does not worsen anything. But regularly - e.g. a few seconds or minutes every hour, varying a great many types of exercises and increasing those that don't worsen. Despite severe fibro I can do up to 5 hours of exercises per day when I feel it helps.

Also as you say your symptoms are horrendous: I've successfully decreased many many symptoms, almost all except severe fatigue/Ache from overdoing it. So if you like I could give you ideas for yours... I still call my fibro severe, because this decrease is only possible by working on it many hours a day and because the fatigue despite 10 supps for it I regularly take prevents me from activities longer than 2-3x1h per day.
