So my local nurse recommended I take duloxetine today to help with fibro pain I've been having lately, as well as treating my depression. I'm a bit on the fence with it though as my husband and I are wanting to try for a baby soon, so I don't want to start a medication to potentially stop taking it after such a short time.
Does anyone have any experience with duloxetine during pregnancy or just in general for fibro?

Hi jarbnsmelts, I've been taking Duloxetine for about 10 years. I've recently come down by 30mg to 60mg, I can't say I've noticed much difference at all.I'd consider talking to you Dr about your plan to get pregnant. They may advise you differently to the nurse you spoke to due to this really important issue.
Hi,I have just had too stop taking it because it makes me tired all the time. It also keeps me awake all night with headache. I had no get up and go. However it did take the edge off the pain. Everyone is different it could be great for you.
Maybe you could consider herbs connected with hormones? Google things like Shatavari, Agnus Castus, Black Cohosh for use before pregnancy. I'm taking wood betony for low mood right now but I'm over 70! In moderation it might help as it's a nervine that relaxes you. - Most likely, feeling broody is contributing to your depression. All perfectly natural that. Primitive woman only had her hormonal moods to go by! Nothing changed there has it! - If you do start a pregnancy, don't go anywhere near raspberry leaf until three weeks before birth whatever the online tea adverts say. Even then, take advice. - Suggest Traditional/five element/Chinese acupuncture to help some of your pain, the moods/ fertility/pregnancy/birth etc to get you where you want to be with this. Acup useful if you are running over time or baby in wrong position etc. A well experienced well qualified practitioner who has specialised in pregnancy could be very supportive to you and partner. - This heat may stop you feeling so hungry. Make sure you eat enough highly nutritious natural things, drink lots of fluoride free water and rest enough. You are preparing for a marathon and the adventure of a lifetime and your instinct will be highly tuned despite the fog! Trust yourself. Make sure your decisions are the right ones for you, not ones promoted by salesmen. Good luck JS.
I have found it to be very helpful at relieving my pain and also was taken off citralopam due to my age and was extremely anxious that it wouldn’t be as good but have found it to be exactly the same as the citralopam that I just couldn’t cope without. Many good wishes for when you begin trying for your baby. Obviously at 61 I haven’t got any experience of using duloxetine during pregnancy 😂😂I wish you and your husband all the best 🙏xx
