I'm so sorry to read this, & can understand your husband's upset.

With your own appeal, have you tried to get some help such as representation? Should you wish you could search here: advicelocal.uk/ choosing 'Welfare benefits' from the drop down menu. If there's a Welfare Rights Office near you that would be ideal, but Citizens Advice may also be able to help, & they could take a lot of the stress away from you. Hoping this may help.

Hello Raddi, So sorry to hear this terrible news. Do both look after yourselves 😘my sympathies to you both. This is what I wrote about the film’s death in 2016, caledmI am Dave Becket😢it was exactly the same situation a film based on fact! It was extremely upsetting to watch but to know someone that has actually gone through the same experience. Take care xx

About a 59 Geordie man that had worked all his life and had had a heart attack. His Dr said he was still not fit for work but the benefits people stopped his benefits and told him to go back to work! It was about him trying to navigate his way around the benefits system, not being of an age where he had ever used a computer, which of course is how everything is done these days. He had no money and the stress it caused him was obviously unbelievable. By the time it got to his Drs supporting his claim and him getting to the tribunal, he went that day and had another heart attack and passed away 😢😢it says at the end of the film it wasn’t based on anyone in particular but was based on fact. It broke my heart seeing what he was subjected too and knowing that this does actually happen. As you and your husband have now found out from your husbands work colleague 😞

It is on BBC I Player, it maybe to upsetting for you to watch atm a bit close to home but I feel people should if they can watch it because more awareness is needed of the whole benefits system

Its always nice when good advice is recognised and I have found CM1EDSUK 's posts on benefits to be informative and well presented and also of course with the option to see further advice.

As a support group we are here to help one another and give pointers where we can. We may have a wealth of knowledge in our own subjects but the expereince and resources of professionals are not to be underestimated. Also, they tend to have insurance to back the advice they give as opposed to signposting or prviding information.

So lets keep on being a supportive group and walk away when we cannot say something constructive.

That is horrible it truly is. But don't give up, don't give them the upper hand as thats what they want. All the best xx

As per my pm to you "This is a support group and not a proffesional advice site and everyone coming on here should be aware of that as it is not advertised as anything else. "

People are also adults and take the info as offered and can exercise their right to avail themselves of further guidance elsewhere which is why we often refer people to benefits.advice@fmauk.org or CAB. But information will help people if offered in a supportive way.
