Hi BusymummaI raised 2 kids on my own with autoimmune and fibro.

I found out the hard way if I just kept going my body would shut down and I would end up in hospital where I could not care for them.

Try not to put to much pressure on yourself. Lots of self care and get the boys to help in household stuff if they are old enough.

Same for other adults in household if there are any.

Mum guilt can be destructive so watch for it.

If you love your kids and spend time with them you are the best Mamma for them in the world.

Look after you.

Take care.

Thank you so much, I feel so teary this last week, the 2 older boys are 8 and 9 so they’re just getting old enough now to help out with some chores when I can get them to help! Their dad does live here, but I’d say I have 5 children and not 4, I’ll say no more on that subject else I’ll get upset.

I am relieved that I’m not alone because I’m this house I feel isolated most of the time and feel there is something wrong with me and I’m not normal.

When I have time this evening I’d love some advice and tips from you on how to slow down and make time to rest because I can’t think straight or know where to start!

Thank you again for your reply and well done to you for getting through it all.

I have had 4 lots of counselling. Helped me to stop putting my kids first all the time. I had thought that would help my son feel valued after my separation from his Dad but it just made him selfish. I started family rules and meetings ( well time to speak) and everyone including me had stuff to do. The focus was on being a team (family) not on my health needs. My kids learnt about the needs of others.

My son found it hard and made some unpleasant noise on the way but is now a compassionate man with a wife and baby on the way.

How can your partner be support not another kid? Can you talk to them? Do you encourage people to take advantage because you show love by nurturing?

You don't have to answer these questions to me but if you want to talk think about counselling.

Ask at your GPs

I got balance back in my life and was surprised what a difference it made.

I came off some meds because my twin got an ulcer taking the same med. Search this sight for ideas for self care (bath salts, crafting,)

This time will pass and you have choices.

I like insight timer app on my phone for slowing down. Lots of free stuff and some you can pay for.

Start your plan with looking after you. Eating, exercise, nature and mind.

I love crafting for stress.

Look after you

Take care

HI - I am in a similar situ - Busy mum off 4 kids - all with disabilities / ASN - and have fibro, CFS and Raynauds and now awaiting results from my MRIs to see if something else going on!! I dont think my symptoms can all be FM and those listed. I have so many other health problems / diagnoses that often come along with FM and autoimmune disorders. In so much pain, exhausted all the time and unable to function as I need to.I totally feel for you and hope you get the answers and treatment you deserve soon.
