Hey Cookiemonster! I suffer with tinnitus and it’s driving me crazy…I have suffered with bppv (positional vertigo) for many years and tinnitus would be an issue occasionally. However I contracted Covid last summer and I have had ongoing tinnitus since then. Some days the constant high pitched noise is unbearable as it seems louder than other days. I’m at a loss as to what I can do. I hope you find some comfort knowing that you are not alone with this. Kind regards 😀

I have had tinnitus for a large part of my life I have found from hearing test I have sky sloop deafness. Which basically means my hearing just drops off at a certain pitch. I have problems with certain letters like f and s and a few others and think I am hearing a different word? If I am in an echoed room that is tiled or stone etc. I cannot hear a lot of what people say to me. I did find a hearing aid that helped a lot but was way out of my budget! It appears the NHS ones would probably amplify my constant Whistles. Lockdown proved how much I lip read as I was not understanding most people with masks on!

Hi Cookiemonster, I've been working at this for a long time. I've fallen for a few of the supplements that were supposed to help. In my case I think it has to do with the vagus nerve, a cranial nerve that travels behind the ear and jaw to the brain stem. I feel that TMJ may be a part of the problem and one chiropractor thinks the nerve is being compressed at the brainstem and he uses prolotherapy to heal the nerve. I've also considered a vagus nerve stimulator which is a device being used for people who have seizures. You could try and see if any food triggers make it worse. Aspirin always made my ears ring. Keep seeking, maybe we'll find.

Hello. Yes I do. I'm still waiting for an appointment with ear specialist. It's so irritating especially when the room is quiet. I do listen to music to reduce the sound. I think it's one of Fibromyalgia symptoms 😕

There is said to be a ( - causal?) connection btwn tinnitus & higher than normal levels of INSULIN, or 'hyperinsulinemia' (HI) - altho' few in our medical profession wld appear to be aware of it !

Some easy 🔍s therefore, . . . for YOU - & anyone else - affected. Hope this leads to some USEFUL findings ! 😊

. . . those ( - 🍭🍩🍪 !!❗) are precisely the type of products, dear 'sweet' Heloise . . . which hv contributed to the growing 'HI' issues, there in the US, . . . & here in the UK t🍒, ... its been proposed ❗ Perhaps one of the MAIN & most often overlooked cause of a host of chronic - & often inflammation-causing ! - conditions ??!

Even portions of fruit 🍌🍇🍊 too regularly ( - like every day !) with its higher sugar (fructose/glucose) content will help us achieve & stay in this ( obesity & ?tinnitus-causing) HI-state, . . . in this right circumstances ( - now rather common most of the 🌎🌍🌏-over !).

What did you find already, Heloise ? Also 🔍ing with 'Dr Joseph R Kraft' may result in some useful info ?

As far as insulin; it seems fructose causes insulin to become more sensitive, which sounds like news.As far the vagus nerve; it's possible it is being squeezed in the brainstem and there is a doctor who uses prolotherapy with some success. People are losing their neck curve possibly due to cell phone use, etc.

There is going to be summit on inflammation beginning June 20th. You might like to listen or watch. The Inflammation Solution
