Hi there, Just a thought but it could be carpel tunnel. No one here is medically qualified to give a diagnosis I'm afraid.
You really should speak to your doctor. I do hope it settles down soon.

I get dreadful pain in my hands and wrists and forearms both top and underside . Its not always there but it is quite often and would say everyday. I have finally just been diagnosed after waiting years because I complained. I was sent to a pain clinic but the pain specialist doctor went off ill which I suspect was covid related and my appointment was then cancelled for four months. I complained because I had already been waiting 5 months for my appointment to come through and my GP seemed reluctant to send me for any more tests and all the other consultants had ruled out all the nasty stuff so said I just have to live with the pain. Not even the rheumatologist would officially diagnose fibromyalgia and just gave my a pamphlet on it when I suggested I might be suffering from it and said my gp would just have to manage my pain with analgesics. He pressed around my body but at the time I didn't feel any significant pain in the pressure points that he tried so I dont think he thought I had fibro.
He ordered xrays of my neck and hands and then discharged me saying I had mild degenerative arthritis in my hands and mild spondylitis in my spine.
Eventually I was called by a specialist physiotherapist from the pain clinic saying she would get their pain clinic pharmacist to call me and go through pain medications I could try and then that she would see me.
She then contacted me back a few days later saying it was best if she saw me face to face and tried to give me a fibromyalgia diagnosis first as they had various criteria for a diagnosis and then if found o had fibromyalgia then the pharmacist would be able to prescribe accordingly.
Unfortunately the day before my appointment which had been brought forward 3 months because I complained was cancelled because the specialist physio had tested positive for covid. I then got another appointment with her 4 weeks later.
In front of her was a pike of documents that were from the USA and it was a questionnaire with a scoring system.
I couldn't believe the questions and the hundreds of symptoms that were on it. The physio asked me the questions and read out all the symptoms in different sections and hands and wrists were on it. Burning aching sore to touch sprained feeling bone pain in the hands and arms were there.
As I went through the questions I ended up in tears because I hadn't realised how many different symptoms I had been suffering rmfrom on and off over the years and suddenly they were all there. In fact out of over 100 symptoms I would say only a handful hi had not had.
The physio said that out of a possible 19 points I had scored 16 so I most definately had fibromyalgia.
She also said that because I had normal blood tests for inflammatory markers this also pointed towards fibromyalgia with the symptoms I was experiencing.
She also said that although I had now got a fibromyalgia diagnosis it didn't necessarily mean I was not also suffering from another disease alongside it.
I have just been prescribed duloxetine starting on a low dose and building it up as the pharmacist says usually they would start with amitriptyline but I'm allergic to it and have had a reaction to pregablin. I had also been put on gabapentin but the pharmacist said he wouldn't usually pimut his fibromyalgia patients on that either as it hasn't appeared to help previous patients in that it doesnt help with the central nervous system or psychological response.
I will see how I get on with this medication but I have not had good experiences with psychotic drugs before.
I am also currently saving for a new treatment trial which seems to have had great success treating fibromyalgia patients so far which basically involves being wired up to a machine that tests your electrical wiring in your body so to speak and then corrects and faulty electrical responses your body is making. Its called dysregulation. Its completely harmless and painless and you feel absolutely nothing but you have to sit in a chair wired up for four hours each session which costs from £295 each session. Some people have said they felt a huge difference after 1 session and others said it took 3 or 4 sessions before they felt a change and several have written heartfelt testimonials saying they have almost been cured or only experience extremely mild fibromyalgia symptoms now that they can live with as they have been crippled with pain for many years and now feel better than they have in many years.
I hope it does work like these people say and its being trialled in about eight different centres around the UK so I cant see that its a con so to speak.
With any luck if this works then our NHS may be equipped to give it as treatment although at 4 hours a go they would need a hell of a lot of these computerised machines to treat the numbers of people each day. I mean they could probably only treat 2 or max 3 people a day on one machine either 8 or 12 hours excluding set up and gaps between patients
Hi the absolute best thing I have ever done wrt pain is to give up diet coke and anything else with artificial sweeteners in. Check everything from tonic in your gin and tonic, every yoghurt or pudding and even ketchup these days.Mt hand pain disappeared within days 🙏
Hi there, it could be so many things. I have awful wrist and hand pain that rheum diagnosed as fibro. GP initially said carpal tunnel but tests have proved otherwise. Recently pushed for an MRI of worst side and it shows tendinitis and ligament sprain so have been referred for physio. I think so be sure you have to keep pushing for tests and trust your gut if you feel you are being fobbed off.
After getting anything else excluded, you might want to try hand exercise videos on youtube, like this one youtu.be/jTIFzUEZMtwOr hand baths of 1-2kg canola seeds or spelt, either hot (50°C) or cold (8°C).
Hi there, so sorry your struggling. I too suffer with extreme hands/wrists pains... Unfortunately doctors place it under usual fibromyalgia issues and do nothing. Ive personally found wearing compression gloves coupled with wrist splits make enough difference to tolerate the day... Hope this helps
