Hopeless?

I truly give up.

Every time I see a doctor it's always 'go see a physio'.

I've seen a physio, and because my shoulder doesn't hurt when move it in a certain way my pain was dismissed.

I'm hopeless at this point, I give up.

I am just expected to live the rest of my life in pain because nobody seems to care.

I'm sick of being in tears all of the time because no doctor seems to care, sick of this pain.

Hi danceidol i just wanted to sympathise with you and tell you that you are not alone. The physio should have shown you some stretching exercises which might help. They certainly helped loosen up my joints and made movement easier for me when not in a huge flare up. Everything is in moderation though so if its to much scale back a little. There are stretches for fibro sufferers on YouTube which may be useful for now but I would get back to physio and ask for stretches and exercises thatay help you. It will hurt especially to begin with but by the end your body will thank you for it. I take paracetamol if needed to help get me through the stretches. I don't do it everyday as that's just to much maybe 2 to 3 times a week to start with and build it up from there. Best of luck I hope you find something that helps 🙏 💜 😊

Years ago I consulted A rheumatism specialist. I told him I was having physio-as recommended.he replied “I should be careful about that-it’s not suitable for everyone’Every body is different.one remedy does not fit all.if the physio really hurts- I would leave it off for a while and seek pain relieving medication.sometimes rest seems to help mostly

Hi ya, yes it gets us to the point you feel like having a scream, I agree physio for some people with fibro is not always suitable, I can tolerate a very light massage in certain areas , I use bio freeze rub in gel and ibuprofen one sometimes (always check you can use with any medications) for me a wheat bag is soothing as is my hot water bottles on my lower back . I think we try doing things ourselves even if it dulls the pain down, please take care of yourself xx

No: not hopeless! :-P

My take on it is to try to change physios, not change docs. Docs don't really know how our bodies work, they can't "feel" it, not even most orthopedists, unless they are trained in something like osteopathy. Physios do, however many don't know how fibro works. But good ones don't necessarily need to know how it works, altho it helps, however they listen and adapt and are gentle. Also there are >20 types of physio and each physio uses them differently.

Much easier than going to a physio is going to youtube putting in your symptom with "exercise" or "acupressure" and trying all the suggestions bit by bit. Makes you independent and you become your own expert more and more.
