GABAPENTIN for Jumpin’ Extremities

Hi All! Last night I took my first dose of GABAPENTIN! I AM AMAZED! I still can’t believe the difference! Usually I start having spasms in the afternoon, with at least 20-30 min of spasms once I get into bed, but last night, I had perhaps 4-5 and then I fell asleep! The drug makes me groggy enough to fall asleep, but does nothing for pain! I was up twice, taking a hot shower…… I also put a towel & my terrycloth robe in the dryer……… I dry off, then put on the robe to go to bed…… it provides a soothing warmth, long enough for me to drift off! I also have Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) in my Lumbar & cervical spine, …… the pain which is sometimes so severe, I start vomiting & can’t stop! I’ve had to make 3 trips to the ER, in the past 2 1/2 months & with (2) insurance’s it still costs, out of pocket & then the Rx I get to be filled! I’m an old lady of 80…… I’d love to live my final years w/o pain!

Good to hear, and I hope the side effects remain tolerable! Perhaps it'll have some influence on pain in time, but probably not.

Good news…… I slept through the night, w/o pain although before drifting off, I had seizure-like muscle spasms! I’d like to go back on Flexeril…… I was never bothered with spasms until I stopped taking them! LOL! Thanks for your input!
