Medication query’s

Hi I take oramorph for pain , I have thought about the patches instead can anyone advice are these safer then the liquid please

Oramorph is an opiate and works as a quick fix pain-relief, whereas the patches give a constant amount of opiate throughout the time span they are for (1day or 7day). Oramorph is usually used for additional breakthrough pain, which is in excess of the normal amount of pain.

Hi I use patches as I have arthritis as well as fibro they work well for me I started with Ora morph but my gp said patches would be better as you got a slow release all the time I change my patches twice a week talk to your gp see what they think take care

Ok thanks for that information I’m just waiting to see pain management team and may ask for them x

Yeah I don’t think they are safe because you could need more and more although I write down when I’ve had a dose as I wouldn’t abuse it I just want the pain to go away x
