Fibromyalgia and thyroid and adrenals

I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and note that there is virtually nothing posted re Fibro and Thyroid and Adrenals, is there some reason for that. I am reading Dr John Lowes book The Metabolic Treatment of Fibromyalgia which seems to imply in his opinion that Fibro is mainly to do with the thyroid, I have other similar books that imply similar, just curious why none of that stuff in mentioned on this forum?

thanks

I am sure you will find some discussion about Dr Lowes theory within The Thyroid (TUK) forum on HU but it tends not to be discussed too much on here as it ends up in circular arguments and pile-ons unfortunately. The admin team allow the discussion to go so far and then end up having to close the thread down.

Dr Lowes theory is just that and does not fit with other research direction and needs some more work.

Some points :-

# people come on and say fibro does not exist

# don't accept people saying they have had their thyroid tested (we know about the testing)

# required a lot of admin time dealing with it including interacting with TUK admin

# so many many many posts back and forth to the extent that we needed to create a FAQ post linked to below.

Hi ainslie. About 20 years ago I had a massive lump come up to the side of my windpipe. Thankfully once removed it was tested and it was negative. 18 months later the other side of my thyroid developed another large lump, again negative. I'm now on Thyroxine for life. Fibro diagnosis came much later. Sorry that was long winded!!I personally would prefer to ask advice on here than in a book. There's very rarely a subject that someone on here can't answer!! Take care
