I got a letter just before Christmas stating that it's going up by like a pound or so. I've never got the amount you are getting. Is the 198. 60 a week just for esa?

Sorry i should of been clearer. My money is going up not down but as i said by a pound or so but i get alot less than the amount you are currently getting a week. I thought everyone got the same amount for the support group 🤔

What are the support groups? Xxx

This sounds like the standard letter advising of the yearly increase in benefits

However, if the amount is less than you are currently receiving, contacting the DWP is your only option to find out why

Hi there I’m Currently getting 198.60 then from 19th of October it will be £131.30

only the DWP will be able to tell you why your money has dropped. Do you have a family member or close friend who can call them on your behalf? You will need to be with them when they call (I appreciate this may be difficult in current times) as DWP will need you to go through security questions and give the other person authority to speak on your behalf.

Yeah I applied for pip just before Christmas. I received a text saying that they received my forms and then I received a letter a couple of days after saying they hadn't received the forms yet 🤔. I keep meaning to ring them but with the kids off school and ( i have 3 kids at home and they all go to different schools) and 2 who live abroad I've just not found the time. I will do at some point this week.

Hi there. I got a text to say they had received my forms and a letter to say they hadn't. On the form it gives you a date to send them back by which I had done but still got the letter. I waited 4 months for phone call assessment which lasted for one hour and twenty two minutes. You could always ring them for piece of mind but I'm sure they will have received your forms. Good luck xx

Hi i hope you are well today. I sent the letter back about a week and a half before it was due back and then received a text about 5 day's later saying they had received my forms. I guess it's just a case of waiting now. 😊

Hi there.

Yep exactly the same thing happened to me. Yes I'm not too bad thanks just tired 😴. I hope all goes well for you with your application. Someone will also ring you nearer the time to arrange an appointment and will follow that up with a letter just so you know in advance. Have a good day 😁 xx

Hello the letter you and I and all support group claimants received are a general notification letter sent to all who are in receipt of the support group benefit, mine came informing me that from April my new support group benefits will be ££££s but as I will be getting my state pension then it won’t affect me as ESA stops once you reach pension age. So nothing to worry about.

Farmerboy profile image

Hi Ajay hope your keeping warm, safe and well. The ESA benefits vary from claimant to claimant mine £300 every two weeks, depending on any additional payments that have been awarded , a joint claim ect.

Hi.

I get £113.55 per week. I started to get my Esa last year the standard rate to start with then after my phone assessment I was put in the support group and from October the ESA went upto £113.55 a week. That's £227.10 every 2 weeks.

Hi chance15, the difference in money looks similar to sdp amount, could that be it?

Clairelb75 profile image
Clairelb75

Sdp(severe disability premium) is £67.30 which is the exact amount you say has been removed from your award Have you had a change of circumstances e.g. someone move in or someone claim carer's allowance as these get sdp stopped.

Chance15 profile image
Chance15 in reply toClairelb75

Hi there Clairelb75Yes ur right it as been removed I have had no change of circumstances. No carer

Chance15 profile image
Chance15

Is that message for me Ajay575

Clairelb75 profile image
Clairelb75

Hi chance15, if it was me , I would call them(I know it's not a pleasant experience but necessary I'm afraid) and inform them a mistake has been made,it's the only way of making them look at your claim, and hopefully will be reinstated. Good luck and take care x
