Painful shoulders, arms, neck and hands.
Hello , I am glad you are having an X-ray it will hopefully give you some answers, us fibro s do seem to have certain areas that seem to ache or be more painful, for me shoulders/neck are 2 of my most uncomfortable areas. I am using some rub in gel called bio freeze it does certaintly seem to take the edge off. Should you try anything always run it by your doctor or pharmacist especially if taking any meds. I do find my early evening bath in some Epsom salts or radox does help somewhat.😀
Yes I too suffer. Perhaps a referral to Pain Clinic would help. I use bio freeze, hot wheat bags etc. The Pain Clinic arranged injections into the back of my head and neck/shoulders. May be worth investigating once x rays done.
Thank you Dinkie, will hear what my gp say after xrays x
My xrays and scans showed chronic osteoarthritis so that coupled with fibro - a proper double whammy- lead to the Pain Clinic.
I have a lot of my pain in my shoulders/neck and hands .... xrays and mri's showed up clear, so in my case it has been put down to being part of my fibromyalgia - and i know a lot of my pain comes from muscle tension across my shoulders/neck muscles.
I use heat pads when pain is really bad, along with aromatherapy muscle rubs/oils which I get hubby to rub in for me and massage the area. I'm waiting patiently for lockdown restrictions to ease so i can go get a proper massage, which i try to have on a regular basis.
Yes.I have the shoulder pain and stiffness in the neck area.
I'm 51 and my Dr. says it's age and occupation.
She is not a hard core believer in fibromyalgia.
Cymbalta and Lyrica was prescribed to me.
It helps keep things in check.
If you are able too, limit what you do when you have sore days.
It helps with your recovery.
Hope your x-rays go well.
Stay safe and Happy New Year!
have those symptoms, taking Magnesium glycinate and magnesium malate , using a hot water bottle, very hard regular massage from a physio, which is painful but does release the muscles for a while, stretching, cutting out sugar and wheat, has all helped to reduce them quite substantially.
Thanks for you response, much appreciated. Will go for xrays on Wednesday, then wait to hear what dr says.
yes that’s me all the time. I wished that someone could just rip my arms out cos the pain was so bad . I feel you . Take care . Oh I’m taking gabapentin for the pain. It works for me so far
