Hello everyone it's been a while since I posted here. I lost the website and only just found this again tonight π
I am really struggling with the pain from FMS & hip impingement in both hips. Could anyone recommend a gentle massager or tens unit to help relief some of the pain. Some are just to painful to use. Thank you

I have the Lloyd's pharmacy dual channel tens machine (Model LTD 2) which can adjust the intensity right down to where you can't feel it. I've had it for a few years now and it is about the only thing that eases the pain without unpleasant side effects.
Thank you for your reply. I'll have a look. I've tried a few tens units. But the gal pads don't seem to last to long. Just a couple of uses even when cleaned properly.
I use big butterfly pads off ebay. They are supposed to be for the back but I find that they stick better than the little pads and last longer.I can't use the machine on my back at all because it sends me into spasms.
I use a tens i have the normal size down to small sport size...I also use a pain pen....all very afffective.....Though can not use near replaced hips knees etc.....Normal sized one has different intensity button ....small ones are milder and can be placed anwhere as they have tiny batteries ........good luck....
Have you tried heat or cold packs? Personally I use very hot wheat packs, microwaved. The electric heat pad isn't hot enough to distract my brain from the pain but is good for relaxation. I understand that TENS work by distracting the brain with another sensation. I have hip problems too and have stopped forcing myself to sit in a chair. I sit up in bed where I am much more comfortable with my feet at hip level. I also have a futon in the living area if I have visitors - obviously none for a while! The bed mattress is more comfortable so I use that more. It means I am able to be more active overall and in less pain.
I have different heat pads and cool packs too. Nothing seems to be helping anymore. I'm really struggling with the pain now. Thank you for your advice.
Hello I have the tens machine from Lloyds, think it was Β£20 with different intensities depending on what you feel like your body needs at the time. Replacement pads are Β£5. Itβs the best thing I have used for pain π
I have found a lady who specializes in fibromyalgia. She uses hot stones its incredibly relaxing and maybe because of the heat helps with pain. Its calms the nerves even though you may feel as if you want a strong massage it can aggravate the pain. Good luck.
You are very welcome. Was unsure if i would be able to post phone number due to sensitivity of forum but assumed it would be ok as its for a company for medical issues but the forum seems to have allowed it.ππ
I hope that a lot of other people could call them to help with their pain.
