P.I.P. and work Query

Hi Everyone

Hopefully someone could give me some advice.

I had not worked for several years and after a couple of attempts I was awarded middle rate PIP several months ago and over the following months I was lucky enough to secure a part-time job in an I.T. admin role for a few hours a week - circa 14-16 hours in a field that was my background before I became ill with Fibro. It was a great situation particularly with the current unemployment situation.

My dilemma now is that the company wish me to work a few more hours as they are getting busy with their online business running up to Christmas (circa 20/26 hours) and I am reluctant to do this, not because It would cause me more health problems, as the work is spread over 7 days in 3 to 4 hour shifts, It's how it would affect my benefit. The other problem is that it is a rolling temporary contract and there is no guarantee that it will continue beyond January 2021.

What do I do ? Turn down the extra hours which will probably alienate the company and possibly result in the loss of the position as they can pick and choose in the labour market.

Or

Take the extra hours and inform the DWP and potentially lose the PIP and then get left with no work and no PIP in the new year...

Any advice would be much appreciated .

Regards

Jeff

Exactly AJAY PIP is not a means tested benefit ☺️

Thanks for your reply - isn't there a weekly cap on what you can earn ?

PIP is not means tested you just have to fit the descriptors ie if your condition changes ie. Improves or deteriorates then you have to let the DWP know good luck with extra hours x

That made me laugh out loud Ajay I don't think millionaires would claim PIP. Saw the funny side of that. Hope you're keeping well MistyA
