Duloxetine

Anyone take this drug? I started 30mg last night before bed and I’m completely out of it today. My pupils are huge as if I’m on ecstasy, totally buzzed, nauseous and sore headaches. Completely lost my appetite too.

It has helped me greatly and I take 60mg with the dose increasing to 90mg during bad flare-ups. Duloxetine is licensed as a Fibromyalgia treatment as well as an anti-depressant. Give it a few weeks and if you still have bad side effects, consult your GP.

Hi there, if you have any concerns give your GP a call to give you a piece of mind, I cannot remember anything when I started mine but everybody reacts differently, but does work wonders for my anxiety ,I’m on one tablet of 60mg an evening, just get that call back booked with your surgery xxhealthunlocked.com/fibromya..., if you would like to lock your posts this is the link just gives more privacy and not linked to any other site engines on the internet .

Hi everyone. Had a call from doctor regarding urine sample which came back with underlying infection in possibly bladder or kidneys. Mentioned my side effects on duloxetine and he’s told me to stop taking it as I woke up at 4am projectile vomiting in my sleep😔 hopefully can get on something that works better for me xx

Hi, I believe that many people find Duloxatine very helpful with Fibromyalgia symptoms. However, I’m afraid I unfortunately was one of the ones who had a horrendous barrage of side effects. When I told my Dr about the side effects he told me to continue with them and that everything would settle down !

This did not happen. I had migraines, vomiting, suicidal thoughts, brain zaps (inside my head when I blinked or moved my head from side to side) and trembling. This went on for several months and increasingly got worse.

In the end I decided to reduce and come off Duloxatine slowly myself. This is when the real problems started. Everything remained x10. It was horrendous. I contacted the Drs surgery and they confirmed that I was doing the right thing by going very very slowly with the reduction in tablets/strength.

I have since read on the internet that there is a legal case against Duloxatine in the USA - based on the severity of withdrawal symptoms.

All I would say is firstly if you do not suffer side effects it seems to be a pretty positive and effective drug. However, if you suffer side effects, sure try and stay with it for a short while until you can gauge whether they will disappear - but don’t persevere too long if they do not seem to be easing up.

Hi. That sounds horrendous I’m sorry you had to go through that. I only took one duloxetine at 30mg at 9pm, woke up at 4am projectile vomiting everywhere then woke up again at 9 as if I was completely out my face on drugs. My body was trembling, I couldn’t speak properly, my pupils were dilated and I had horrible heart palpitations and called my doctor today and he said to stop taking it immediately. It’s so bizarre how everyone has different reactions. Hopefully I find something that works for me as I suffer really bad anxiety and depression too I was hoping this would help :( xx

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I too have suffered with anxiety and depression for over 40 years - it has been controlled pretty well by a mixture of Cipralex, Lamotragine and Omega3 (which seemingly helps the brain process the drugs more effectively).

The reason I came off these drugs was because my Dr recommended that I try Duloxatine as a one stop treatment for Fybromyalgia and the Depression.

As you can see it was a disaster.

However...... this then led me to try Cipramol (Citalopram) - which has helped with both my Depression/anxiety and Fibromyalgia. I don’t think it is one of the drugs recommended for Fibromyalgia BUT it works for me. Very strange, but it just shows that what works for one person may not be right for the next.

I really do hope that you can find relief from some drug. Don’t give up hope.

Hi. I'm a working women. My specialist Dr has reduced my Amitriptyline to 20mg and have put me on duloxetine 60 mg to be taken every Morning and it truly helped me. I have less pain or no pain as before where the touch on me gives me excruciating pain and was not able to carry on with daily life.
