Around Oct. 2018, I noticed I was having trouble walking. I thought it was due to being overly medicated. 3heart attacks in Jan. 2019 and I'm having more trouble walking. Getting better after the heart cath, implant but exhausted and can barely lift myself off the couch. Tonight, I noticed it's much worse. I put together a trip for next week. Walking with a cane is rough. I can no longer do laundry, cleaning, work, etc. Walking up and down steps is horrible. Please help. I want to go back to long walks. No real pain except in the front of my thighs when I try to get in and out of the tub or manage a space on the couch.. I just can't live like this.

Why can't I walk
Hi there, nice to meet you and welcome to the group you never said if you had fibromyalgia. You may benifit by speaking to a physiotherapist. I would talk it over with my GP if it was me.
You've been through a lot by the sound of things. Glad to hear your feeling better. Maybe if you have had to rest up a lot due to your heart problems this could have weakened your muscles. Short and regular exercise may help to make them stronger x

I would speak to your GP and maybe get a referral to a physio team .
Hi Des, I agree that's what I posted above
sorry meant to reply directly. Also meant to say that I agreed with what you were saying
Thank you 😊 x
Hello. I was surprised to find this page but I know I'm not the only one and I'm not making it up. With all of this came 3 months of swollen feet, ankles and legs, up to and including my thighs. The dr. ordered an ultra sound. I don't have blood clots, I knew that. Then he told me to see a vein specialist. I know my body. It's not in my veins. Once I finally stand, it's difficult to move. I think I am moving, I send that to my brain. Nothing. So, then I get moving and am exhausted after just about 10 feet. I used to walk 3 miles a day. I hate this. I don't like having to ask for help. I'm actually thinking of contacting a neurologist. I just feel that is the way to go. I completely sympathize with everyone who has this problem. Oh, I have severe pain in both arms from what is similar to tennis elbow so I can't get on the computer, like I used to.
Good morning I am sure no one for a moment thinks your making it up. In fact I would go has far has saying the majority of people on the forum sadly suffer in the same way. I have had Fibro for over 30yrs and have used a wheelchair for many years now because I can not walk or stand very long.
While a lot of my problems are fibro related. There are other things like OA inpacting on the spine. For me been in lockdown made my mobility worse if that was possible.
But I definitely would be speaking with my GP if I was you. In fact that's exactly what I will be doing. I am getting my bloods checked again today. If they come back OK fingers crossed. I'll be speaking with her further. I am also in the same position you are.
Which ever route you take to find some answers I just want to wish you luck. Constant pain has so many knock on effects both to our mind has well has our body 🤗🤗

Heart medication can make you feel like this. My partner is the same.
It could be depleted muscle tone due to the Lockdown. It certainly is kicking me hard. If I sit, I set. I have been shielding , and the amount of fitness and muscle tone I have lost is astounding. The stiffness really kicks in if I sit for even 10 minutes.
Add to that the weight I have gained, and it really is no joke.

This started in Nov. 2018 when I was over medicated by one doctor. I haven't gained
my strength back, at all. I never used to have health problems. Now.......there isn't one part
of me that doesn't hurt or have something wrong. I hate getting older.
Tell me about it, I'm 72! It's sheer Bl**dy mindedness that keeps me on my feet and moving. Stiffness is the enemy for me!
Cheers, Midori
Have you had your vitamins checked? You could be deficient, medications deplete absorbtion of vits and minerals especially vit D/B1/B12, Selenium, Magnesium etc. and this could make a difference to your pain level and energy, most doctors dont know the importance of nutrition in helping your body repair itself. I have Hashimotos and lots of back problems but now after sorting my nutrition I feel better at 72 than I did in my 50's. Best wishes
I actually began taking magnesium. A couple of people suggested that. This all started because I was over medicated with anti-depressants.
Then, the same meds caused me to have 3 heart attacks and now a pacemaker. My walking is worse. Just about 14 feet and I'm exhausted and hurt. Now, I could work on this If I hadn't developed another problem. My legs and feet have been swollen for over 3 months. It's much better but still have tightness in my legs and swelling. Then.......yep, another problem. I got a horrible pain in my left arm. After a while I found out it's equal to tennis elbow. Dr. won't give me anything for pain. I sit and cry most of the time. Then....you guessed it.....tennis elbow in my right arm. I'm right handed. I opened the door at the chiropractor and I could have sworn my arm broke in 2. They can't do anything for this. I do need bloodwork done and we will go from there.
Meanwhile, I really appreciate the advice. Keep it coming.
