Hi Pippyhorse, you have my sympathy. One doctor decided I had gout although I had no symptoms and put me on the same tablets. I must admit I disagreed the enclosed leaflet for a month by which not only was I itching everywhere but the rash around my breast had turned into abhorrence scaley rash a bit like fish scales, horrible. I did what the leaflet said and rang 111 as it was a Saturday reveals to stop taking them immediately and visit doctor on Monday. I may have seen a grocer, she would not give an appointment but have me a steroid cream and told me I had eczema and not make a fuss. I am 80 years ol, had many health problems but not with my skin. The next month with my repeat prescription she actually sent two more boxes. Eventually I saw another doctor who prescribed a moisturiser to use 4 times a day. That was over 4 months ago and although much better it is still in my scalp, and I have lost some hair and today it has been itching behind my knees again.

All a doctor has to do is say if a rash appears you may be allergic and if so stop taking them and call us. I was really worried the other day when a friend told me she knew a man in has seventies who had been taking them for 3 years and during that time he had been in and out of hospital for tests etc. But nothing worked and last time I heard he was being tested for blood cancer. In the whole of that time not one doctor had suggested the tablets. My friend told him about me and he stopped taking them and felt a little better. He was going to tell the consultant the next appointmenf. I have not us anything yet but it will be interesting to see what the consultant says.

Sorry such a long post but I just hope anyone reading this post and is on the tablets and has a rash will stop taking them and speak to their doctor.

Hope you feel better soon, be patient cream up well and take care.
