Sorry that you are having a flare up. I am on Gabapentin 800 mgs twice a day... 3 times depending on my nerve pain. Cymbalta wouldn't allow me to function at all. The down side is that it has made me put on about 40 pounds. Why are you trying to get off the gabapentin...is it not working for you ?
If my pain is really severe I will take an OxyContin as I also have osteoarthritis, and Etc.
I have nerve block injections once a week for 2 more weeks...then, once a month. I am getting them today.
It is 6 am... I have been up since 4 am. I am so stiff, I had to get hot packs.
Today is going to be a legging day as the nerves in my legs are tingling so bad. I wear compression leggings from Sigvaris... the compression really helps, even the one piece body suits.
I once sold wheelchairs and scooters...ironically, I need one myself on my bad days...but, I am trying to put it off.
I feel like my family don’t understand that I am in pain....so, I try to hide it, and not talk about it.
Sorry for the rant, my family are upset as I have changed meds a few times...it works for a while, then...other things change ...so does my meds. They don’t want to hear about it ...so, I try not to talk about it.
Fibromyalgia is so hard to live with.
I have been off work almost a year. I miss working.
How long have you had MS? Some of your pain may becaused by one setting off the other.
With my osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia...throw in my sever anxiety with PTSD... let us have a thunderstorm like lately here... I am a mess.
Sometimes researching things online yourself can be better for you...it gives things to discuss with your doctor, especially if you have an older doctor. They don't tend to be up on all the new information that there is for many diseases.
Try what works best for you. 60mg in the morning is common as taking it later in the day can lead to sleep problems for some people as they find themselves feeling wide awake late in the evening. I take 90mg and the extra 30mg reduced the pain significantly. I take 60mg at 8am and 30mg at 1pm.
