Throat pain
Are you living in my house?? I get this too and it lasts for weeks at a time. I've had it going on about 5 years now. It really hurts and when I open my mouth sometimes it looks red and angry. I'm experiencing it right now
I was told my thyroid is inflamed and that's the problem, but this was by a private doctor who I cant afford to go back to. I told my doctor about it but she refused to refer me to an endocrinologist. If it's a physical, observable symptom of Fibro, why do doctors keep insisting its all in our heads I wonder?!
Sorry it's a really horrible. Like having strep throat for weeks.
My throat had eased of for a few days but not gone away. Didn't sleep at all last night pain in neck and throat bad as ever. I find it's low down in throat. This article was answered by a very well known gp and if he can accept these illness's why can't other doctors accept it. It just pulls us down, doesn't it, hope you feel a bit better soon x
I've had this for a while, I'm wondering if I have CFS as well as FM, I also get sore armpits. I had my glands scanned in my neck, it was confirmed that they are enlarged, one more than the other which I already knew, but she said there was nothing to worry about and to speak to a GP about the results.
Thank you for replying. It is annoying when you are told not to worry. That just adds to the problem. Let me know what your gp says. Take care x
I will if I go, I don't find them very helpful if I am honest, not just that, I have severe anxiety (agoraphobia and maybe social anxiety) plus depression so I find it hard going to the medical centre.
Here they mention Lyme Disease testing negative - really Dr here should be saying it can be negative and that restesting for Lyme if still has symptoms should happen in about 4 weeks time before thinking of other thing like Fibro & ME/CFS. There is a lot of GPs who need to read up Lyme tests and signs/symptoms etc as NICE guidelines have been updated.
It is definitely something to rule out as sometimes their is a faint bullseye (EM) rash or people cannot even remember being bitten etc.
As per previous post about possible misdiagnoses of Fibromyalgia, it is likely a small percentage may actually have Lyme Disease among other possible diagnoses. This is while it is important to be an expert patient and be informed as much as possible so nothing is missed in the diagnosis process.
Hope this is if interest
