Follow on from yesterday

Following on from yesterday which I am still hoping for some feedback on I had been asked by the rheumatologist if I had experienced any trauma which could have triggered my bad back symtems. As I was unprepared for this question and not very fast thinking I said"no". However I have since remembered that way back, just after leaving school in fact I had a random bad back and was prescribed a short course of big link tablets which I think may have been ibroprupin..... Wonder if it may be worth making an appointment to see if I can speak to a more understanding GP and see if they added this to my medical history. Going on what I said yesterday about nothing 're austio having been recorded. I simply have no faith in GPs now. Which is awful as I am in fact a care worker...

Also some weekends do tend to be slower than others around here for obvious reasons this been a ill health forum. I am sorry you have had no replies to your posts. But this forum is run by volunteers who also have many health issues themselves. But we do our best to help support if and when we can please bare in mind none of us are medically trained we can only offer support and advice as well as share our own experiences and what may and may not work for us.

It is thought that trauma could have triggered some people with fibro but i'm half and half with this. There is a lot of people who have never experienced trauma but still have fibro. I have sufferd with it my self for over 30 years and am now in a wheel chair. But I have also got a diagnose of OA and slight stenosis in the spine. so I always ask myself which came first my fibro or the other ?

It is a very baffling illness and I still can not always get to grips with after all these years. So I am sure it must be even worse for the medical profession.

hi hun- weekends tend to be quiet on the forum so dont worry if people dont respond on the day...I too was asked if I had been involved in trauma, I had watched my father die a horrible death age 69 because of medical negligence, I felt uncomfortable telling my consultant this as it involved the same hospital. I have O.A Fibro, CFS and sjorgrens, as for gp,s they are being strangled to cut down on money by our governments, if you are onboard with a rheumatologist write to him yourself with anything you think might be linked, also tell him thinking on your feet is proving hard-thats a symptom of fibro.Your g.p should have sent your medical history to the consultants prior to your appt. Your job is really hard to upkeep with this condition.

Hi Gladys. Thank you for replying. I have a copy of the letter which the rheumatologist sent to the GO but he said he was discharging me. I was thinking of returning to GP to ask for further investigation. But probably be made to feel I am wasting their time again. Also as I was told years ago that I should lose weight and have put a lot more weight on since..

Yes my rheumatologist does this to me often, signs me off and then sends for me evry 2 years, if he has diagnosed fibro then he CAN offer you other services like specialist physio, hydrotherapy, acupuncture and if his trust dont offer those services he should offer to send you to one that does.

You need to get to the hospital and get disguised If you have got fibromyalgia you will know it
