How long does it take.....

Hi I'm new to this group, I was wondering how long it takes from when you have the work assessment until you get your answer. My husband had his pip assessment the same week (he has Parkinson's) and he has had his answer, which was no, go figure. It's been over a month, and really struggling on universal credit. To make things worse I have to have an operation on my shoulder which will put me out of action for 6 months, do these people understand the grief they put us through?. Any info will be great at getting nothing off those whose job it is to help.
