Hi Blossom,

My dad had a similar problem of foot cramps when he was on codeine type pain killers.

The nursing sister said the cause of his cramps was that he was severely dehydrated.

Codeine medicine is notorious for causing dehydration (along with associated constipation). Maybe you just need to drink more water?

Best ask your doctor or phone 111 for non-emergency medical advice.

Good-luck,

John

I get that,I wokeup like that last night then took my pill for the spasms called robaxin.

Hi Sarah, Sorry to hear about all the problems you have with cramps, etc. My GP put me on 25mg of Amitriptyline which helps with my cramps and restless legs. I also found Vitamin B complex supplements help immensely, not just for cramping, etc but for my state of mind, it also helps to get a better quality of sleep. I do yoga, which according to the experts is the best type of excercise to help fibro sufferers with their mobility. I use to walk with a crutch and after doing it for about a month I rarely use it. Hope this helps!

Hi Sarah, sorry to hear of your pain. I use a magnesium spray on my legs at night which seems to help. My consultant says that codeine is not really much help with neuropathic pain but I use CBD oil which I find extremely helpful, also gentle yoga stretches and agree with Fleurdelis that it rates highly as the best type of exercise for fibromyalgia.

Hi Sarah, sorry to hear about the cramps.

My doctor had put me on pregablin 300 twice a day. After a few weeks I started to suffer from cramps in my feet and RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). When I mentioned this to me gp he increased my other pain meds and decreased the pregablin. Apparently, one of the side effects of high doses of pregablin are muscles cramps and spasms.

Speak to your go about the cramps. Ask if there are alternatives you can take it to reduce your dosage (I'm now on 225mg twice daily). I also found that, when I did have cramps in my feet, alternative hot/cold foot baths helped to release them. I tried walking on them to try and ease them out but it just made the cramps worse.

I hope you feel better soon and I hope the advice helps.
