Hi Patches,

Yes, I'm usually up at least once during the night, but it's normally at least 3 times. x

Ooh is it a competition? I can go 8 times on a bad sleepy night! Any advance on that? Bit of a stress if I'm staying somewhere. Hate waking others!

Unfortunately, yes. Like an alarm clock 12 midnight, usually about 2, 4 and usually 6. I've tried not drinking after a certain time etc but nothing works in fact the less I drink the worse it gets. In the day regardless of what I drink I rarely have to go. I've only had this problem since fibro. I often wonder whether my medication has something to do with it. I've always been a poor sleeper but as we know the frequent trips make life difficult.x

Thats exactly me. I drink loads during the day and barely need to go but its a different story once I am trying to sleep. Up almost every hour. Now I have a fitbit,it records exactly how many times I get up and how little I actiually sleep. I think it must be the medication causing it.x

Yes that is me some times up to 6 times but I have been diagnosed with an overactive bladder and take medication for it One Dr asked me to attempt to wear adult nappies "REALLY" Can you imagine doing that urinating yourself then trying to go back to sleep whilst wearing the wet nappy !! Some people never fail to amaze me.

Not sure your doc meant for you to sleep in a wet pad. He probably meant in case of a leak on the way to the loo. I wear adult pullups and they have saved my blushes and carpet on several occasions.

Patches I think you are normal population of needing to use the toilet 🚽 during the night. I sleep through the night but that is because I was scared of the dark as a young child and I trained my bladder to sleep through the night. My dad would watch these scary movies on Friday and Saturday nights which would give my twin sister and me nightmares. One I still remember that this bad guy set up mouse 🐁 traps and ran electrical wires to them so every time you stepped on one you would get electrocuted and snapped at by the mouse 🐭 traps. They were set up all through the house but especially in the hall and on the stairs. So dreams like that made me train my bladder to sleep throughout the night. 🤷🏼‍♀️🛏🚽

I used to have an iron bladder, but since diagnosis, it has weakened and as soon as I wake, I need to go. hence the Granny Nappies!

Oh during the day I have to go every 10mintues to maybe 2hrs. The interstitial cystitis makes me have to go for just the smallest amount. Citrus 🍊 acids really aggravates it. Which diagnosis weakened you bladder?

Hi patches12,

Yes I have to go to the loo a couple of times during the night, even if I have taken a sleeping tablet, have you been tested for diabetes? to rule it out as this can be one reason, if you are worried see your GP, hope you you get the answer, best wishes 🌻🌺💐🥀NanaT
