Can hardly walk in the morning 😒

Hurtingknees profile image

I can't walk in the morning and it's very hard to reach to bathroom. I'm 40 and a bit overweight.I can't straight or move my legs. I hardly move holding walls and other things. As day progresses something clicks inside my knees and I can walk fine.

I wondering when we have laid in roughly the same position overnight we are stiff and yes does takes a little while to get going in the mornings, if you are not sure if it’s connected to your fibromyalgia next time you visit your go might be worth having a chat . Take care if you would like to lock your posts for more privacy for yourself and members I’ve posted the link healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

I think you need to go and see the doctor and explain your symtoms to him/her. They can do tests and confirm these symtoms are due to Fibromyalgia or something else. I find do that my fibro walk in the mornings varies to a degree depending how bad my fibro is that day and gradually my walking improves over the first few hours of the day. I went to the doctor's and asked for a referral social services occupational health therapist. My oc therapist assesed my walking in the morning and gave me 2 walking sticks and a trolley with trays that I use in the mornings. She also got me a perching stool I use in the as I cannot stand to cook or wash up. Hope you get the help and support you need. Gentle Hugs

Hi

Hope you feel s little better now. I've written something similar further up. I just can't move my leg, I'm tip toes and grabbing everything to aid me., I try not to wake my husband but I sometimes have to. Think I'd better see Dr, I went yesterday with something else and forgot to pension this!!, Love and hugs to you all Lynne xxxx

I have already consulted many doctors. No avail. They give only pain killers and other supplements, but those are just for temporary relief. As soon as I stop the medicines it raises its ugly head always.

Worst thing is that I am a mom of two kids and because of my continuous pains I feel so helpless, I feel that I am not doing my wife's and mom's job as I should do :(

You can only do your best Hurtingkness. The fact that you worry not fullfilling the role of wife/mum shows your doing a good job. I was diagnosed when my child were 10, 9 and 6 yrs old. I had the symptoms many year's before. My children have turned out well and Ithink my children benefitted from me being ill as they have developed compassion and empathy. Their now 29 28 and 25. As to being a good wife I am sure your husband understands. My husband certainly does. Hope all goes well for you. Ruthiepooh.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes I am doing my best still I know I can do better than that but couldn't because of my regular pains as I am suffering from period( monthly) migraine, hypothyroidism, osteoarthritis and spondylitis.

Had two c sections and a removed gall bladder too πŸ™„πŸ™„

hi, mornings are my worst time of the day .... it can take me up to half an hour to actually get myself moving enough to get up and out of bed (most days with hubby giving me a shove to help me up) and to the toilet etc. once i'm up and moving the stiffness does start to ease off.

I find it worse on the nights i sleep not badly ... so i think a lot of it is simply stiffness and pain from lying still in my case ..... whereas nights where I'm constantly tossing and turning, the muscles don't get the same chance to stiffen up as much xxx

Oh you definitely defined it same. Tossing and turning surely helps but on the cost of our good sleep :/

Hi, I am exactly the same in the morning, so stiff from lying down for hours. It's the same if I sit for too long, so hard to stand up, everything kind of locks in place and it takes awhile to get moving again.
