I am unsure whether it is making us sick but know that when people are ill with Fibro that noise can be one of the Multi Chemical Sensitivies that make it worse. In some places in the UK now that have quiet hours in certain supermarkets for people with Autism etc to shop to try to ensure their symptoms do not increase.

Personally, as a societal issue I am more worried about screen times and the blue light it emits (which you can get gadgets to help reduce this now) as it is thought to disrupt the circadian rhythm and drastically affect sleep patterns. I think this and the ability to be contacted all the time means no shut off time which is important for everyone. I like these retreats that remove all technology and take you back to nature - surely the best way to relax affect all these modern stressors!

Do you have any opinions on western life compared to other countries that live differently and whether we are getting more sick in comparison? I wonder if this is the case. I am sure some bright university student interested in this has written and researched this thesis. Would be an interesting read I suspect, don't you?

Thanks for posting

Emma :)
