Morning Kenny no worries I’m self taught so still learning hope today is fairly good for you.
After reading all that disabledkenny1 I am wondering what concoction of pain releif you take? are you under the care of rheumo and orthopods? Maybe even a neuropod too. Have you ever tried steroid injections straight into a big muscle (bum) for many years I had a drug called kenalog injected for various arthritic complaints, they worked very well and kept me pain free for 4/6 months,, my gp was bale to inject it after the my consultants gave it first and then reported to gp to give it 6 monthly which he did 4 monthly!!!
Butec 10MCG/HR Transdermal Patch Apply one a week, Naproxen tablets 500mg one to be taken twice a day
Paracetamol tablets 500mg two four times a day when required, Amitriptyline 75MG tablets Take one at night & Diclofenenac Diethylommonium Gel 1.16% three times a day, the only injections I tried I had a elergic reaction to rheumatoligist injected my left should & froze my arm for 3 weeks, but I have bad memory through strokes & cant remember the name lol
thats quite a lot as I suspected, do you ever have medication reviews with your gp?
The diclofenac gel has been removed from prescribing in Manchester I buy 12 hr voltarol (diclofenac) which is a bit stronger and lasts longer - also discovered volatarol plasters (not the heat pads) from Boots pharmacy you can sleep in them they are effective for 12 hours too I use them on sore muscles like lower back they have 140mg of voltarol in them.as for injections I had my coccxy done this week under a spinal anaesthetic and it has worked, BUT you can have these straight into a muscle so that the entire body gets the effect of it and not just one area, I hope you find a happy medium with all your meds naproxen are good if you dont have acid reflux, but I would speak to gp about sorting out what and when you take..
I do use voltarol that is what the GP put on prescription, I have to wait to see the medication doctor at the pain clinic its a waiting game, the injection they tried on me was cortizone I take Esomeprazole Gastro-Resistant tablets 20mg one to be taken twice a day
Wow I thought I had a lot of conditions but you a lot more 60 in total, what gets through your bad days, I just think there is always some one worse off then myself, and enjoy helping people on Facebook groups I run 4 groups there myself, take care & have a great day, Kenny xx.
I’ve been sick all of my life and other than Gabapentin I can’t take pain meds due to my multiple GI problems. It is my normal. Yes there are always others who are worse off than us. Especially children born with cancer or half brains and hearts. So I’m glad to hear you help others. I’m that way too. Only I’m limited to lending encouraging words and empathy these days.
Hi good morning dear friends how are you this morning I hope you are well & had a good week.
I finally got a full night sleep first in 4 weeks thankfully feel rested & pain not as bad as usual, but like most of us still in some pain, as my pain medication does not work I’m on Butec 10MCG/HR Transdermal Patch apply one a week and Paracetamol I am going to ask for Fentanol patches (proper slow release morphine) when I finally get to see the pain clinic medication doctor, I saw the physiotherapist on Wednesday & found I have nerve damage in upper spine (neck) so wait for MRI Scan, then a neurologist likely take about 3 months?
I am just taking Rio my dog out today then resting after doing my physiotherapy excerises (arms & neck) as got weak neck, shoulders & arms.
I hope you have a wonderful day, take care Kenny xx.
morning Kenny and welcome. What a shopping list you have.
Keep up the exercises. Sometimes it doesn't feel like it but they do help. Things may be worse without them. Having a furry friend seems one of the best strategies and you have that too. Good luck.
Thanks I am doing the exercises but muscles feel very tight & feels like a lump at back of neck & between shoulder blades even though there is no lump there, I have slept past two nights on & off but at least getting some sleep, so feeling a bit better
If your muscles are tight, it might be Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) as I get similar pain and it is related to this. It seems it is common for people with Fibromyalgia to have MPS alongside and my muscles go tight and looks like it's tense all the time.
Does any of this sound familiar? If so, it may be worth speaking with your GP and asking from something to help. I was prescribed Buscopan initially then Diazepam but only for those occasions not to be regularly. I also know some people with Fibromyalgia benefit from the complementary therapy called Myofascial Release.
