Assessment Appmt

To follow up on my last post on the Assessment Service I previously contacted my MP and the Office of Jeremy Hunt and sent a strong worded email to them (I had a major flare up when I received the appmt letter and lost days in bed). The problem I had exists because doctors have an inhouse time limit of 28 days to complete the form and send. Whereas the Assessment Service give doctors a time limit of 15 days if the report is not received within these 15 days they make an appointment for you to be assessed. This is wrong and causes other sufferers unnecessary anxiety and possibly flare ups. I'm in contact with my MP to try and get this changed and will write again to Jeremy Hunt and get him to do something about it. I believe the Assessment Service should wait 28 days, if anyone out there feels the same or has suffered due to this issue can I ask that you write or email either your MP and Jeremy Hunt. It needs to be changed asap, thanks guys hope you're having a tolerable day x

To speed this type of form filling up I sat with my gp , booked a double appt and took it away with me,, posted it with proof of postage,, Ive found you need to be one step ahead of these people.

You're right but the basic time limits of the Assessment should be lengthened to match the doctors. I'm not always well enough to see my doctor and I'm sure there are others the same boat.
