Yes please be careful with morphine MST, I gradually weaned myself off it because my doctor had me banned from driving! It did work very well but I do need to be able to drive! Is there anything else that I can have which will lessen the pain and still allow me to drive? SENDING out an SOS here!! I am the female the other is my deceased husband - long story!

Pain relief now the morphines gone!
I don't take any prescription meds as I'm too scared of the side effects and I have to be able to drive.
I've gone down the route of taking small things that might make a small difference, hoping they'll add up to a bigger difference !
I take high strength Turmeric ( and I was definitely worse the month I stopped taking it) 3 Ayurveidic capsules a day. Selenium. Vitamin D.
I've found the only painkiller that works is soluble paracetamol with caffeine. Ones without have no effect.
I use magnesium spray on my neck when it's painful and a tens machine. Also find Perskindol gel helps. I was using Salonpas patches but I've found magnesium spray works better.
I can only use Versatis medicated plasters (lidocaine) on the most painful area, I have an aspirin/paracetamol/caffeine tablet that I take when the pain is very bad!
Piggery14 I have never been on morphine, I wonder what you had tried before you went on morphine?? well done getting off that stuff-did you get withdrawal? when I have been terrible with am flare up (only twice in 17 years)I have presented at A&E for help, they infused 1gr paracetamol with lidocaine (only available in hospitals) followed by an appt to see neuro and rheumo docs for further intervention... have you some pain relief in the house like co cod or dyhracodeine ?
